The Vineyard at Escondido

This course was in much bettet shspe a couple of years ago. The fairways are about ten different kinds of grass snd weeds. The greens roll good but are pitted with many ball marks. The course overall needs lots of maintenance. Prettty disappointed.

Pace of play was really the only complaint. Everyone is in a rush to get through the holes. I am generally a quick golfer but this was way too fast for us. We’ll go back at a less busy time. Otherwise, the course was very nice and well taken care of.

First time playing and my group really enjoyed the course. Some of the fairways were a little rough and the greens were a little soft but rolled well for the most part. Pace of play was excellent but we were one of the first groups off. Will definitely play again when I come back.

It definitely gets warm out there. Course is in decent shape, the bunkers are starting to get cleaned out and tee boxes are looking a lot better. Pace of play is the only thing that kills me for this place. Having to wait to hit tee shots and second shots the entire back 9 was ridiculous. Lay out is challenging and greens are rolling nice.

Our first time at this course. It was a great time. Fairways need a little bit of TLC but the Greens were very well maintained. We’ll definitely go back.

I like the layout of the Vineyard (especially the back 9) but the course conditions were not great. This was primarily an issue on the fairways. Still a fun course to play and had a good time.

Greens are in good shape, hard with nice roll. Tee boxes can use a little TLC. Fairways are well manicured, unfortunately lacking water, most are drying out but very playable. Staff members are very helpful.

Great course layout and friendly staff. This time the conditions where better, most bunkers still over grown with weeds and some dry / dirt patches on the back 9 fairways.

We breezed through the front nine, no one in back, no one in front. The 10th we found a fivesome in front of us and they were slowed by two foresomes in front of them. Course needs a little watering, fairways a little bare. Green were great, though. Very hot out, so maybe that's why. Still a good layout and fun to watch the turtles in some of the various ponds around the property. Bring bug spray for the front nine, little annoying gnats.

The course is in good shape especially the back nine greens. The pace op play was good with the help of the course marshal. I really enjoyed the layout.

I booked an early tee time. The course is in very poor conditions. The fairways are full of weeds and crabgrass. The bunkers are in terrible shape. There are numerous unmarked bald spots throughout the course. To make things worse, when we made the turn we discovered that apparently they schedule tee times off both 1 and 10. We played the front nine in 90 minutes. We came to a screeching halt on the back nine 90 minutes to play four holes. I would not recommend this course I played this course a few times in the past. It is definitely not the same course anymore. What a shame.

We have been playing up north due to COVID, nice to be back in SD again. I had an expectation that the courses would be in great shape, no one playing, chance to fix everything you can while the course is closed, but no, looks like no work was done, and it looks like they still have a lot to do to bring it back up to my standards and meet the price demand.

Greens a bit worn down. For 12:30 tee time would have expected a little better. Easy check-in...

Pace of play can be a little slow at times, but the course is absolutely beautiful so you don’t really mind waiting. The course is right off of the freeway so it does not take too long to get to. The course is very well up kept and one of my favorite places to play. In my opinion this is the best value in San Diego for what you get!

I got a walking ride from Golfnow which was reasonable but I picked a pretty hot day to do it, front nine wasn’t too tough to walk at the back nine was a bear! Are use a cart next time. The course was in nice shape, Greens rolling well. I really do like the layout on the back nine just some long walks from green to the next T on certain holes. The front nine is flatter back nine is hilly with some really good looking holes. I would play it again but like I said I’ll get an electric cart next time
