Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort - North/South
About
The 27-hole golf course designed by Ted Robinson is the centerpiece of Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa. The holes are divided into the North, South, and West nines, which each offer a unique set of challenges. They are played in three different 18-hole combinations that showcase the best of California desert golf. The North/South is the shortest of the three courses. The fairways are wide but lined with swaying palms. The layout can be tight in some sport and a few holes have water hazards but overall it is a very player-friendly course. Mount Jacinto serves as a backdrop to the golf course, providing stunning scenery throughout the round. The course is popular for its playability but it also provides a conveniently quick round that can be played in less than four hours.

1st time playing
Tight course. Very narrow in some places. People’s property is in danger of getting hit on a lot of holes. We were partnered up with another couple and that helped where to hit to because its not all that clear from the tee. Had a really good day and would consider playing there again
it was okay
Pace of play was quite slow, no beverage cart. One of the nines on this site was being being over-seeded, so we had a busy day. I've played here before and it was fine, but right now, I can't recommend it except in a pinch
Rancho Las Palmas Addendum
This is an addendum to my previous review of Rancho Las Palmas. My previous statements apply, except for the professionalism of the staff. Courteous, yes. Professional, no. We played on Saturday, and returned home from vacation on Sunday. That’s when I discovered that I had left my Bushnell range finder in the cart. I called the pro shop explaining the situation and was told no range finders have been turned in. My range finder was magnetized and attached to the metal post of the cart. I guess it was just too tempting for someone to do the honest thing and turn it in. They have a record of who was assigned each cart for every round so they could have found out who it belonged to. Even if they didn’t want to go the extra mile, the honest thing would have been to turn it in.
Enjoyable
Very enjoyable experience. We have played here before, and for the price, it is well worth it. All staff that we encountered were friendly and professional. The courses was in very good condition. End of October, so the weather was perfect. Not a super long course, even from the back tees, wide fairways, and good bunkers. All in all, very good experience and would recommend.
Another fun round
We had another fun round here and were paired with a local couple. Course was in good shape given that it is about to be shut down for overseeding. Had a wonderful time chatting with the other couple as we played. Pace of play was excellent and we finished in three (3) hours!
Nice course
Course could use a marshal - one group had 2 empty holes in front of them. Other than slow play, enjoy the course.
