Hovering Marshal
DICC is prepay thru GolfNow/teeoff. Upon arrival and our subsequent range session we noticed many carts entering the 1st tee area. Because we were the 7:10 group I hesitated to say something because hopefully these were speed golfers. The starter did in fact send out a 7-some (!!) of regulars/locals. When it was our turn we got no greeting nor a “have a good round” instead I heard a “reminder to fill divots” from the lady. Hilarious because while following the 7-some we all noticed fresh, unrepaired divots on the greens; guess the rules only apply to us out of towners. Miss marshal continued to hound us from about hole 7 til the end of the round..(we had an overzealous group of beginners behind us that later hit into us on 17) mind you, we finished at 11am after starting at 7:10am..Guess the policy at DICC is to play at a 3:30 pace? And to send out 7 somes if they’re regulars? BTW there was a 5-some about 4-5 groups behind us as well..
Course conditions were fine. Did not stay to eat so can’t comment on the food. Bathroom /mens locker room could use some more ventilation as it smelled like a dead body in there at the conclusion of the round.

Love this course. The island hole is a fun challenge. 180 to the island and 200 to the pin; or 315 to the pin across water. I did the 180 and 200.
Course at 7:00 am tee time was quite wet with standing water in the bunkers. All good, but added to the challenge. Not an easy course, but not as difficult as Pete Dye courses in the area.
