Desert Island Country Club

We really enjoyed the course. It was in great shape and we liked the layout.

The only negative thing is the food prices at the course. My son and I each had a hot dog and fries. They were good but $32 for 2 hot dogs and fries is over the top. I realize most courses charge a lot nowadays. Would still return to play again though.

Parking was limited and had to park in overflow area, but course attendants gave us a ride upon finishing. Played in 3.5 hours so pace was good. Greens were 10+ speed which starter told us the grounds crew had recently stepped them up. Overall pleasantly pleased.

Greens and turf was over seeded and nice. Staff was friendly and food service was good.

Main issue was lack of maintenance of the many sand traps which come into play. They had not been raked and fluffed in a while.Also no GPS on carts.

Fairways like a carpet. Green was smooth and fast. Enjoy playing here every time. I highly recommend this course to everyone if you are in the desert.

Course is forgiving and I’m totally decent shape. Mostly straight w wide fairways and few holes w doglegs and water. I feel I overpaid at $135. I’d say the course is worth $90 tops. Free range balls is nice though it’s only 180 yards. Putting/chipping practice area is nice but I left a wedge for a little while unattended after putting and it walked off.

We attended the AMEX golf tournament and wanted to play a round before heading back to snowy weather. We chose Desert Island as it had good reviews but was not as expensive as other courses nearby. The wind was blowing when we started but since we had already paid for our golf with the GN app my wife and I gave it a go. Due to the winter weather back home it had been several months since we had swung a club. There were leaves and branches and palms all over the fairways and greens. While on one tee box, a 100 foot tree 40 yards in front of us came crashing to the ground. While it startled us we played on and finished the round. Our favorite holes were 9 and 18, both very challenging water holes. My drives were not very accurate and I lost a few balls. We had a nice time overall and hope to come back another time when it is not so windy!

Played it yesterday. Was pleasantly surprised how well manicured this course was. Staff was awesome too. Fairways and greens were perfect. Will be back soon.

Everything was perfect, the staff is great, specially Jose and Allan. Great layout, perfect conditions.

The course was very very nice to play the first time. We will return to it again. The terrain is very flat with a few little mounds here and there and sand traps in just the right places to make you think about your shot placement. Water comes into play on several holes but is very work-able. The staff was very friendly and professional from checkin to departure.
