About
Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa boasts a 27-hole championship course that serves as the centerpiece of the resort. The holes are divided into three nines and played in three different 18-hole combinations. North/West is a challenging but playable golf course. There is a good mix of tough holes and player-friendly elements. The fairways are lined with palm trees but they are wide and offer some room for error. The rolling terrain is dotted with six lakes, which provide water hazards on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout. The final hole on the North nine is ranked as the hardest hole at the resort. Although it is a seemingly easy 390 yards, the challenge comes from teeing off over a ravine to a narrow fairway guarded by trees and thick rough.

Floods, Families, Sewage Oh My!
This review covers South and North only. One hole was flooded out with water fountain and sprinklers flowing with water. At one point we caught up to a family with 3 carts and 4 children and two adults all playing and not minding a twosome behind. We are very patient golfers and love seeing families on the course, but 6 players and 30 minutes later, we had to skip the hole and play on. Several holes play through what seems like a “wash” and at the bottom is a river of what smells like raw sewage. Don’t hit your ball in it! Overall just a poor excuse for a golf course. Is it really associated with the Omni? If so, come on guys. You can do better.
Experience
Played the south and north courses. The south was really good, but the north was questionable at best.
Good course for the money
Course is in reasonable shape fast greens some tight holes fun to play staff were great restaurant and bar were closed but nice steady play
Very nice golf course
Maint is pretty other then some of the bunkers, greens rolled amazing.
Nice comfortable course
Great course for seniors fairways were in good shape greens were in excellent shape some tight driving areas but a pleasant course to play
The South course is very nice but the North course is not, going over the wash several times. This golf course also has the same problem as many golf courses around here: no sand in the sand traps, somewhat strange in a desert environment. I would like to try the West course.
Nice Course Layout
First time playing the course. I was nice to have GPS on the carts as it helped knowing what you were playing on each shot. Overall it was a good day of golf and the course was in good condition.
Course layout
There are 3 x 9 hole course. The West course only had 5 holes open. Fairways have a lot of blind shots only to discover most of them have water trenches running parallel across them, so easy to loose balls, creating terrible lies. Greens were generally in good condition, however approach shot were mostly up hill and blind. I did not enjoy the experience.
Suprised
Course was in pretty good shape. Nice pace.
BUT, no water on the course! No bathrooms on the course! No food/drink cart. Unbelievable in
this area with lots of seniors & hot weather.
