Great course
Emerald hills is a nice tucked away course that is perfect for a golf addict.
Course was fine for being so inexpensive but it has a frisbee golf course that follows the golf course so that is double the amount of people and hazards to watch out for which seemed a bit chaotic for the small course.
Emerald Hills Golf course, (Redwood : CA)
Good course to test short game skills & 3 par (S) up/down on slope course bring on narrow shots to become a better rescue/recovery shot maker to be translate to 18 hole flat courses....a confidences builder.
Staff has always. been polite, <Joe, Devon, & Matt>. u must tell/bring a friend.; & easy slide to get on play @ a deal.
Grow the grass
Needs grass to keep balls from rolling off the course.
Hidden Little gem
Played Emerald Hills by myself today and I mean by myself, there was nobody else on the course this afternoon. It’s a small course with several up and down shots, some tricky shots will definitely challenge you. Not a beautiful course as there were several dirt roads or ugly ruffs leading you from one hole to the next, but the greens were very nice and well maintained. I would recommend this terrific little course in the Redwood City Hills.
MT's review
The setting is a bucolic combination of neighborhood and woods. Children could be heard playing in the pool and we saw a deer walk by!
The best parts of the course – and these were excellent – were the greens and the tee boxes, which somehow have avoided the predations of the gophers!
Accuracy was rewarded and areas of the rough were very rough.
Great practice for the price
We paid $14/ea to walk 9. Not too busy on Sunday afternoon and great short game practice (longest hole +/- 175 yards). Try it out.
Needs some work
Right now, most fairway grass has died and there is no stopping a ball on the fairway on 1,2,4,5,7 and 9. If you leave it short of the green, expect it to roll off the fairway and maybe lose your ball. The course needs to make it playable for high handicappers, like making a berm or sand to prevent roll off.
Good course care & maintenance
Beautiful greens. Well manicured. The tee boxes at most holes are kinda wrecked. Careful on 3 hole green. Lots of baby frogs to putt around.
Awesome 9-hole course
Emerald Hills is a fantastic course with a good variety of holes. Because it's hilly, there are challenging uphill and downhill lies. Not too many obstacles, so it's beginner-friendly. The first 3 holes are ~150 yards, so you can hit something longer than a 9i. With the exception of hole 7 and 8 where you need to wait a while, I really enjoyed playing here. The price with GolfNow is only $5, so it's pretty much a steal. Very satisfying to hit green shots from the tee.
Challenging course.
I am from Florida, so the hills and small, narrow fairways were challenging. I can see this course will help with my short game. Chipping and putting practice area is excellent.
Better, but still needs work
Staff has done a much better job of mowing and the tall grass in the middle of the fairway is nearly all gone. Lots of poorly maintained areas still exist, but it is much better than in past months/years. For the Golf Now $5 price, it is still worth playing.
Must be a billy goat.
Good for your short game. Very hilly course. Not a good course for the elderly. but if you get a discount via a website, then good price to work on short game.
