Up and Coming Course
The National is a newly opened course in Ave Maria which, if you don't live in Ave Maria, is a drive from anywhere. It took us about 40 minutes to get there from North Naples. We got a really good deal on Tee-Off/GOLFPASS so we didn't mind the drive.
I like the course layout and it is fun to play. The fairways are wide and greens are big. Many of the par 4's are relatively short doglegs with water in deceiving areas. I played from the Black tees (6,020). Plan your tee shot with the in cart GPS to avoid trouble.
The greens had been recently punched and growing in so putts rolled a little slow but true. The tee boxes and fairways were in great shape and the rough was high but we were able to find wayward tee shots.
Being brand new there's not much in the way of amenities, no Clubhouse, restaurant or food available so be sure to provision accordingly. There was beverage cart service but it discontinued early due to low turnout the day we played.
All in all, I will play this course again and again and will keep an eye out for deals on Tee-Off/GOLFNOW, but will be sure to bring a sandwich in the future.
Very enjoyable course to play
I enjoy the wide rolling fairways and general layout of the course. At this time however, there is no landscaping so you are basically looking at a construction site once you take your eyes off of the fairways and greens. The staff are courteous and professional.
The National first time
This course is very new just opened this year. A lot of work still to be done. But fairways and greens in very good condition. Little to no landscape features as yet.. a lot of undulations in fairways make it interesting. CArt paths still rough. Unpaved. Carts are gas. Noisy
Would not recommend. YET. Should be a very nice course in a year or so.
However, for the price,$46, or less with PGA South Florida pass ($36), worth it to work on any aspect of the game.
Don’t wait on this course. It will eventually be too expensive to play
Love the layout and conditions of the course right now. Greens are in beautiful shape and the features on the course make it tough when playing from the tips. The course itself makes up for the fact the amenities (clubhouse, bathhouses, ect.) aren't built yet. Play it now while you can for 50$ because it definitely feels like a steal right now
1st time playing and will definitely be back. Greens were absolutely flawless and quick loved putting in them.
Course in good shape.
Gas Carts instead of electric.
Heavy sand from some of cart paths.
This i a young course. It will be a much better course in a couple of years. Tempoary clubhouse no amenities. Staff are very friendly and pace of play is good. This course just needs more time
