The National Golf & Country Club

Much of course still under construction. Clubhouse is a trailer. Porta potty next to it. Had to call for replacement golf cart 3 times. They said they are leasing them and have had many problems. This place is just not ready yet.

Pin placements too difficult on a very windy day. Pace was slow. Too many people playing who should be on an executive course.

Wow. Really worth it. Book 7 days ahead. In season $50 to $70. Challenging but not overly so but most of the challenge is due to the water hazards which you have to either carry or avoid and the trap placements. Mildly narrow fairways on some holes but all fairways are perfect, medium sizes greens which are well kept. I played it twice. Played it same day as Panther Run, which is across the street. This course is more challenging than Panther Run. The actual course is really perfect. Unlike panther run you can warm up and use as may balls as you want at the range. This is the beat deal.

So they are building the homes now but the course is open. Its a bit of a drive from naples and bonita springs but great deal. So since they are building parts of the connecting cart paths are rough but you will not care because its a great course at the best price you will find in season

Very difficult making a reservation. weekly system keeps changing and getting frustrated.

The best thing about The National is the price. You can easily pay 2 to 4x as much in Naples area. If you are willing to drive, this is a great course. Super friendly staff, nice greens, undulating fairways, great sand and water.

The course is under construction. Your bag will be dusty and there is lots of equipment. And its a drive. Those are the cons.

But for the price, its a fantastic value and I would highly recommend.

I played The National when it first opened and it needed some time to fill in and grow. I played again last week and found it to be in very good condition and a great test of my abilities. The greens were very challenging because they are fast and undulating. I'm looking forward to playing again this Saturday. I would make one suggestion, Please make a combination tee box Black/Blue of around 5500 yards. For me 5000 is too short and 6000 is too long.

This is a very nice layout. It is fairly new so the greens are firm. Greens run fast and true.

Fairways are generous, but you need to know the layout to avoid run off to water hazards.

Sand is great.

First off Starter never told us there was an interactive map above our heads . Starter never told us that the carts stopped working if you go in the wrong direction and we weren’t the only ones. What seems apparent on the course leads you in the wrong direction. The right direction is sometimes down a dirt path that you would never imagine. Most of the mess ups were in the first 2 holes . Course is just being built so eventually I am sure will be cleared up . The staff should have warned us about it.

Course in good shape considering all the construction going on around the front 9. Would definitely play again
