Cordova Golf Course

Been playing here with friends for about 3 years, maybe 15 rounds a year as it’s cheap and fast in the evenings after work in the summer. I have had a few issues in the past, however this time we were treated so poorly I simply cannot come back. Started round at 5:30, right now it doesn’t get dark until 8:45 or so. Was kind of surprised I was told to be finished by 8:15 (after I payed of course), but I knew it would not be a problem. Marshall named Guy was a little off from the beginning, immediately stopped me on the first tee and advised me the front 9 is too difficult and I would be better off playing the back 9 as it is easier. I told him I payed for and was planning to play 18 today, he then drove away. Midway through the round around 6:45 he could be seen watching us. Then at 7:00pm (hole 11) he gave us a warning saying we had 30 min left before we had to leave in the rudest way possible, try to explain we were told 8:15 and he was not having it. He finally drove away after arguing with us for several minutes. Then came back at 7:45 or so and told us we had to leave again, already irritated at this point simply told him know we paid for our round and we are going to finish it, yelled and argued again and then finally left. When we finally wrapped up after all of his delays, it was 8:12pm. Cleaned out our cart and went to hand him the keys and hoping to resolve the issue, told him sorry we were told 8:15 and he could have handled it differently (he was the only one there and obviously just wanted to close up early), he then continued to tell us off and wouldn’t even take the keys when I tried to hand them to him, had to literally drop them on the ground next to him as he refused to take them. Continued to have a meltdown as we left and we assured him he had lost 2 customers that day, he said he doesn’t care and proceeded to go off about him being stuck there on an Friday and not getting paid for it and it’s basically all our fault. I’ve never been treated so poorly. As long as Guy is working at Cordova and they allow this treatment of their customers, I nor anyone I play with will be returning.

Guy could not seem to grasp I paid on golfnow kept trying to charge me. Also sprinklers were on full blast on 2 and 3 fairways soaked 3 inches of water in the cup on both greens. They let people go off the back 9 so when you make the turn it's a traffic jam... older couple played out of the same bag, slow slow slow... D- ...goodbye Cordova golf course

Visiting a friend in the Sacramento area and had time for a quick round of golf at Cordova . The pace of play is never an issue the greens was a tad bit slow. The post-round burgers one of the best I ever had !

If you play this course in the afternoon, it will cost you the same amount as a bucket of balls. Why not get out on the grass? The conditions are OK considering the price and there are a wide range of hole lengths to test all of the clubs in the bag.

I played this on a hot Sunday afternoon through golf now for 11 dollars. Don't expect a 4 star restaurant or a 5 star course. But make sure your long irons are working. There are a lot of long par 3 to practice your irons from 170 to over 200 yds. The guy that runs the course made it easy to get out when I was ready and stayed until I finished. Nice little course that I will play again

This course is in good shape for the amount of play it gets. Play is always slower so you need to bring your patience.

The course is in decent shape and isn’t too challenging. The holes are close to each other so keep your eyes open for wayward shots. The greens were terribly slow and the bunkers were hard and some had grass growing out of them. The staff is friendly and the pace of play was fairly quick.

Greens are very slow and pace of play was slow. This course does not attract highly skilled golfers during prime time. Many beginners and high handicappers on this course, creating slow pace of play conditions.

A golf buddy and myself arrived early. We were informed that it was backed up; however, he was able to send us out earlier than our tee time, about 15 minutes. We enjoyed our bright sunny beautiful day on the course. The fairways needed mowing, a little higher than most and so were the greens, other than that the course was in great condition. The fairways were green and not wet, considering the past rainy weeks; all-n-all it was a great value. We had fun and will book another tee time in the near future. Last but not least, the staff were very friendly and the course Marshall even offered us cold water while we were on the course.
