Lake View at Callaway Gardens Resort
About
Nestled in the southernmost foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Callaway Gardens was created in 1952 to preserve the local environment, from the native wetlands to the abundant forests of mature trees. Golf at Callaway Gardens is a unique experience in that you'll be completely submerged in nature and surrounded by wildlife. The resort’s two golf courses, Lake View and Mountain View, are challenging enough for avid golfers but they are scenic and playable enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. The Lake View Course is the original layout. It offers a slightly more player-friendly round with wider fairways and generous greens. There are more water holes on this golf course, nine total, including five holes that are routed along Mountain Creek Lake. The signature par-3 10th hole features an intimidating island green.

Golfer Reviews
Great around
I had a great time and course was in good shape!
tough mature layout
I had played this course 24 years ago, so this was a long wait to get back here. My son and I played eighteen as a twosome which we had a foursome in fornt of us and a twosome behind us. The weather was overcast and due to rain the night before the conditions were wet.
This course and the Mountainview courses are pure enjoyment and the staff is excellent.
We are so glad to hear that you had a great time. And, we hope you don't wait as long to return. Your patronage is greatly appreciated.
Callaway Gardens Lake View
Generally, the course is in good condition, but it's still winter golf in Georgia, so, soft conditions, especially in low-lying areas which are in play. Greens are very good, all things considered. Fun course (played from the tips which is about 6200 yards), but softness sometimes led to longer second shots than you would get in the Spring/Summer. Tough to get right club into the green when you can't get good compression off the fairway, so be ready for adjustments. Hitting short into greens helped turn a 78 into an 84. Not the course's fault, though.
We appreciate your thoughtful post, and your business. And, we are very glad that you enjoyed your game. You are pretty close by and we hope that you are out to play again soon. The Mountain View course is calling your name.
a must play course.
greens are hard to read. fun to play, but watch out for the bunkers that guard the greens.
Thank you for the great post and your business. We are happy to have our Newnan neighbors come play golf ... often. Hope to see you again soon.
Top Notch
The greens were rolling very fast and shots up to the green were sent rolling due to the hardness. Very few ball marks and we'll cut greens.
I play here twice a year and this is the best shape in my five years of experience.
We appreciate your post and your business. Thank you for the compliment. Our team has been working hard - and battling crazy weather - for the last few years. We are glad it is noticed. We look forward to your visit.
Great cours
Great course very challenging. Well taken care of. Rained us out half way through the round. But had fun
And, fun is what it is all about. Thank you for your post, your business, and for the compliment. We look forward to having you back!
Golf Now customer unwelcome!!!!!
Although it was a nice course, losing a lot since the days of the Buick Open. Staff very arrogant and rude when found out we book through Golfnow. If you in the area and want that resort friendly accommodation go elsewhere; if you not truly caring about being treated by all means I recommend. Keep in mind 30 plus handicappers will be playing and no Marshall in site to police. By the way 90 plus degrees and water coolers empty.
We apologize that you had a bad experience. We are just seeing this as we had a login problem that was just resolved. We appreciate your post and hope that you will give us another try.
Well-maintained and player friendly
Thiis course has beautiful water views but did not pose too many problems for the average golfer. Par threes were especially fun to play. Greens putted well and had good speed. Weather was extremely hot but Course was so beautiful and made for an enjoyable day.
We are glad that despite the heat - you had a great time playing golf at Callaway Gardens. Thank you for your post and your business. We hope that you'll return in t he near future.
Great time
Course in good shape. Some players were slow and rude to not allow us to play through. But still fun.
We are glad that you enjoyed your day (despite rude guests). Thank you for your post and your compliment regarding the course. We hope that you are able to join us for another round soon.
The course is in very good conditions
Very friendly staff. Challenging but fun course. Some holes are very forgiving due to the wide faraways. I will make and effort to play the course again soon.
Great deal!
Can't beat the current special for military, awesome course one of the best I've ever played!
very good conditions
I Enjoyed the round and the greens were in good shape except one
Sure bet in GA
Every time I visit GA Callaway Gardens is a must play for me. Challenging course with something for all levels
Excellent Round
Peaceful, beautiful course, and surrounding area. Overall well maintained course, greens were quick, and the pin position was tough for not knowing the greens. Not long but you have to position shots on numerous holes to have a solid second shot. Will definitely be back to Callaway Gardens. Thanks.
A shot makers challange
You wont need driver much, you will need to be sharp with your approach shot due to undulating greens and Sunday pin positions.
this course is non stresful
We played from the back tees and found it testing but not too difficult. You don't really need driver on many of the holes specially on the front. The course is beautiful and fun to play.
Love this course!!!
Prefer it to Mountain - pace of play and scenery are both much better!!! Love old school courses - unique challenges and I get to hit every club in the bag. Highly recommend to beginners - large fairways and not very long, but fun. More highly skilled golfers have a chance for risk/reward shots and to put a good number on the scorecard if you are striking the ball and clubbing well...
Newbie's Review
I'm a 40 handicap and have only been playing for about 4 months first of all. This was my first course to play outside my home club. I found this course both extremely challenging and fun. It was because of the mixture of hazards, open fairways, and strategic points. I was very surprised by the fact I actually hit the tee TOO far on a couple of par 4's!
I was really able to improve my game by playing this course!
Callaway Gardens is a beautiful rsort.
Callaway Gardens is a scenically beautiful natural area; the Lake View course reflects that.
We are glad to hear you had a great time playing the Lake View course. Thank you for sharing about your experience. We hope you'll be back soon to play Lake View again, or try Mountain View.
