Mountain View at Callaway Gardens Resort
About
Callaway Gardens boasts two different 18-hole golf courses, but it’s much more than just a golfing destination. Situated amid the southernmost foothills of the Appalachians, the resort was created in 1952 as an educational, horticultural, and recreational facility. The mission was to embrace the beauty of the natural environment and preserve the natural resources offered by the wetlands and forests. Playing either golf course you’ll be surrounded by pristine landscapes abundantly filled with native wildlife. The Mountain View Course is the longer and more challenging of the two. While it may not have as much water as the aptly named Lake View, the Mountain View golf course will truly test your shot-making abilities with narrow fairways tightly lined with trees and several tricky doglegs. One hole where you’ll encounter water is the signature par-5 sixth, where both the tee and approach shots are over water.

Golfer Reviews
This course is challenging.
This is an awesome course that will test your ability to hit tough hard shots. It is a course that will make you plan your way around the course. It’s challenging and rewarding at the same time.
Awesome layout, tight fairways and tiny greens
Fairways were a little bare throughout the course. Other than that, very enjoyable course. I remember when one of the Buick events came through town and this was the layout they played!
Great course
The course was in great condition. Covid still limits some areas of the club house
Fantastic Fun
Great course; really a nice location too..."far from the maddening crowd"! Regular host to collegiate tournaments; nice family activity location too!
GREAT DAY
Callaway is ALWAYS enjoyable to play; course conditions are always nice and well maintained and the staff is always cordial and accomodating
Overpriced
Course is nice but more like a $45 course. The lake view was very similar but cheaper
Course good but......
Overall the course was pretty good. Has changed since the PGA days. Pace was acceptable given the resort nature of Callaway. Greens had just been punched and were very inconsistent. No warning on here or at course. My only complaint.
Great course
I played here on 7/9/20, we had a 9:20 time and were hooked up with two other people. But when I checked in, I was told if I wanted to play only with my son, we could go out at 9:10.
Course is in excellent shape, the rough is pretty high, so if you miss the fairway, it’s easy to lose your ball. Greens in great shape but a bit slow. Bunkers were consistent throughout.
Pace of play was great. All in all, great Mountain course, I play the lake view course tomorrow.
