Terrible pace of play
3 hours and 15 after our tee time we were still waiting at tee box 10 to play the back 9. Ended up leaving. Just a terrible pace of play. Course completely backed up. Had a long wait every hole to tee off, then had golfers behind us hitting into us multiple times. After talking to them they stopped. Coarse was in fair condition. 6 to 7 hours to play a round of 18 is way too long.

Shermud Forest
Played Sherwood a couple of days after a big storm & the Course was extremely muddy with quite a bit of standing water. Looking forward to playing the Course once again when it dries out a bit.

Is Sherwood a Sure Thing?
Unfortunately the condition of Sherwood Forest deteriorated badly last summer but the course seems to be on it’s way back. The Golf Course is a classic layout & very challenging. I just hope they can get the Course all the way back in shape & maintain it through the Summer months.

Cold and wet
I played out at this course in January 2024. It was really busy on a Saturday.
Greens are looking better but there are still a few in rough shape. It looks like they’re putting some money back into this course which is nice. It’s in a great area by Kings River.
Fairways are pretty decent but had a rough time finding a good lie.
Food and staff are excellent. For the money and the views you can’t beat it.

Closed
Booked on GN. Shoed up 30 minutes before tt. employee said we're closed .He gave me an attitude, and a raincheck and I left. GN should not allow booking of tee times without checking the status of the course.
Course is a mess
Fist off I’d like to get this out of the way, the fairways were very nice and in good shape, staff is always friendly as usually but Jesus, the tee boxes were flooded, not mowed and all the tee markers were up front. The greens had huge dead patches and a lot of them. Putting was pretty much impossible on most greens. And the price they’re changing now is about $10 more than when the course was actually in good shape less than a year ago. Also the fact that there’s no twilight times, the fees stay the same most of the day. I liked seeing the renovations they were doing but they definitely need to work on the tee boxes and greens before anything else

Wow
So I consider Sherwood my home course. I play it more than Airways, Dragonfly, or even Belmont. The course is in disarray. They’re doing work on the putting greens so don’t expect to practice. The range was closed. 14/18 greens were horrendous. It was as bad as putting on the moon. Oh and about half of the tee boxes were either hardpan dirt or just flooded mud. Sad to see this course go down hill. After we played the first nine, all amenities were closed with no food or drink sales. Terrible

Call before you book
I have been playing this course for over 30-years and this is the worst shape it has ever been in. Most of the greens are patchy because of the fungus and they are redoing their putting green. The tee boxes were so wet and muddy that I actually fell while swinging on the first tee. When this course is in good condition, it is awesome to play. But if it is so bad that people are telling you about it in the parking lot before you even tee off, I would find someplace else to play until they get it back into good shape.

Bad Condition
The greens were in horrible condition. Some sitting water on the fairways made it muddy.

Sherwood
Great course, pretty narrow so hit it straight. The greens were in rough shape, they were about to aerate that evening. Always a good time though. Lots of shade on the hot days.
