Great place to work on your short game. And a great place to hang out with family and friends before and after the round.

I love playing this par 3 course and the fact that it's open at night is so helpful. There isn't another place I can play at night under the lights. It makes a great date spot, a good night out with the boys, or a great spot to go the night before a tournament to dial-in your short game.

Course is in pretty good shape, can't expect perfection at a place like this though. Pace of play can be slow at times depending on the time. I've played at a good healthy pace and I've played several times where it is slow. Their cash register machines need a faster system because a line frequently backs up inside the pro shop.

The food at the restaurant is good and the bartenders are all cool. I recommend it.

This place could be epic. Could be the words that make it average. I feel like they are still figuring it out. Tee box’s get a little confusing. You can see where mats where the start choice and the now the progression. I didn’t keep score because a. It’s a par 3 and b. No scorecards are given. With the venue side turn it into the party it should be if there was a bar every 3 holes I would have stopped for a drink with time due to the pace of play. Also either more lights or better angles would help. Overall it was a fun time for what it was. Not something I would do often unless it gets better.

Overall a pleasant addition to EADO area that comes from a someone with a solid vision however with a few minor adjustments/tweaks this place could really knock it out of the park.

PROS

Playable, friendly course for both beginners and advanced players looking to dial in their short game

Minimal risk of losing your ball on a poor shot with the acception of maybe 2 holes

Course is well kept for the most part (still has to pass the test of time as it's still fairly new)

Easily playable with a 9, PW, and putter

CONS

Price - usually looking at $40 per person for a 9 hole par 3 seems a little steep.

Location - I've gotten caught by the train 2 out of 5 times I've visited. Real tough area to find alternative routes as well

Tee time policies - the last two times I went, coworkers and I showed up without a tee time. While I completely understand booking a tee time is always the way to go, it was overcast and we figured people would bail. ALSO, they accept reservations with no payment of any kind so there is no incentive for them to call and actually cancel, They said they were completely booked and instead of letting us slide in for people who didn't show up, they said they were just going to move everyone else's tee times up which made no sense at all

To be fair, they finally let us slide in when I argued that no one had teed off in 30-40 minutes and my group plays "ready golf"

If they brought the price down OR initiate some kind of frequent players punch card or something this would be hard not to play weekly

First time at East River. I’ll start with the good. The Staff at golf and restaurant deserve 5+ stars. Over the top nice and respectful. Food was also incredibly good. Now the not so good - The Golf. Very pricey for a 9 hole par 3. Same price as many 18 holes with a cart in better condition. Pace of play was brutal. Took 1 hour and 45 minutes to play. Tee boxes were combination of turf and grass. Grass was in bad shape and still better than the wrinkled uneven turf. Greens were terribly slow and bumpy. It could’ve been so cool with the bayou, but 0 holes really edge up to the bayou. You forget it’s even there and at least 6/9 play away from the city so you miss all of that view too. Designer gets a giant F. Course was very crowded. With all that said only time will tell if the novelty wears off and people quit coming or people would rather the cool in town vibe over value and conditioning. For me, I wont be back to until the price or the conditions change.

We don’t have many options for golf inner loop. I live near memorial park and it’s a nightmare trying to teach a new golfer out there. This place is perfect. She can learn her irons and not feel too bad about topping or duffing off the tee. Maybe someday Memorial will open their “Junior” course but I’m not holding my breath in Texas. Good things move slowly here. East River 9 is a great addition to the local scene.

I was visiting Houston and wanted a nearby Par 3.. Was informed about GolfPass which led me to East River nine. Reserved a spot using golf pass. Once at East River nine sign in with Harley at the Pro Shop was easy. I asked for the nearest driving range, and he said they had one there. The driving range was spacious and easy to get to.

The restaurant across the pro shop is incredible. Everyone there was friendly. The food that was coming out was generous and outstanding in presentation.A nearby customer said they had one the best burgers around.

Met some of the regular golfers who raved about the place.

Told me it had recently opened and since had added Pickleball courses.

5 stars as per atmosphere. The restaurant is beautifully arranged There is outdoor seating. There is an outdoor lounging area. There are a variety of seating areas to look over the golf course and the river.

I can’t say enough about this place. I highly recommend visiting and taking in the experience.

This is a great place to work on your short game and have fun. Enjoy the view on the downtown skyline, hit some balls at the range and a great dinning spot to hang out with friends.

Heard about this new par 3 course and wanted to give it a try. Booked on Golf Now about 3 days in advance. Storm had come through the night before, but the course drainage system is remarkable with both mechanical and natural sloping drainage systems. Even though it's a par three, the holes are challenging enough with many undulations and slopes, even on the greens. Pro shop was great as well as refreshment cart. Plan to eat lunch there in the large sports bar/dining area next time. 2 thumbs up!

Course is still coming in. Temporary tee box mats are unlevel. It took 1:45 to walk 9 oar 3 holes. It is very expensive for a 9 hole par 3.

For the money, this is a great option to get in some practice with your short irons. Only the 9th needs more than an 8 iron off the tee but the layout is fun and you get round pretty quickly. Staff are friendly and the bar is well stocked.
