Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course

Pace-of-play is super-slow here, but even more so on the weekends. Everyone walks on this short, very wide, flat course, and no one is in a hurry. We never got called up on a par 3, when appropriate. Another reason to tee off early is no one repairs their bill marks here either. Get ahead of the inconsiderate players by teeing off early. (Die to slow play, I had time to repair six balls marks for every one of mine.) Carts must be retuned 15 minutes prior to sunset, so plan accordingly. Due to slow play, if you want to finish 18 holes with or without cart, give yourself 5 1/2 hours.

For the amount of rain we have had the course was dry and in very good shape for winter golf

Sunnyvale is a very good and fun course with some challenging holes.

The layout is good.

The weather was great for January.

THe only drawback was the pace of p;lay.

It took us almost 5 hours to get in 18 holes.

Good shouldn’t take 3 hours a side. I never seem to be able to finish a round here. Impossible to play when you are waiting ten minutes on every hole. Happens every time

On the day there was frost and my 11:50 tee time got pushed to 12:30. By hole 15 it got darker and colder so I had to give up. Also there is no driving range so no practice opportunity. Staff was very strict about me having a golfnow tee time and wouldn't have moved me earlier because it was what I booked on golfnow. On the positive, The airplanes flying / landing so close looked spectacular and the pace was acceptable for a Sunday.

Sunnyvale Muni is a good course. Great layout. But pace of play is very slow

Sunnyvale is a very good course that is challenging but not too difficult. It has some very fun holes. THe course was in good condition and the weather was great.

This time of the year. You will need to get on the course by 1245 at the latest to finish 18.

All good.. except very slow play.. need a Marshall to move players .. if u can play 18 in 4 hrs ur playing to slow.

I guess this is what happens when the short sighted Santa Clara city council closed santa clara golf course they dint predict the traffic that this will produce. Shame on the santa clara city council. Eliminated golf tennis and soccer for the scummy nfl. shame. now the course is jacked up.
