Slow pace
Very slow pace of play - took just under 3 hours to finish 9 and i never saw a marshall. After arrival I was told the course will lock up its gates at sunset and they won’t give a warning.
Sunnyvale in good shape
Played Sunnyvale on 11/21 @ 11;50. Fairways were excellent, Green and lush. Greens a little bumpy in afternoon play. Pace of play was mostly good. Couple of brief waits but not bad.
Fun and long. Really cool Moffet field planes flying over head
Although I heard there was a tragic accident there a long time ago with two planes it was really neat to see them flying overhead I’m thinking about all of the people in the area and the work that they do what we enjoyed a round
Great Time Out
The course is in outstanding shape. The challenges are Different grasses at rims of most greens. So it will test your experience with terrain reads. Also choice of club use will be tested on holes 4,5,11,12,14,15,16
What I am deeply frustrated with is the level of customer service that is delivered at the club house. What it feels like when we use Golf Now is we are on the Lowest end of tee time respect. This is the only course in the Bay Area that requires to see the actual Confirmation Number. Wait I thought golf was built on Integrity. Why would I lie or cheat to just to use a public course? So tired of the type of service this club house emulates. If it wasn’t for the avid golfers like me, those who represent the course would not have a job.
I would expect a nasty rebuttals from the course. So bring it.
Sunnyvale Muni
Course fairways was a bit bare in some spots. Greens were rolling true. Pace of play was slow. Tee time was at 12:52 and barely made it in before it became too dark.
good muni
Sunnyvale is a good municipal course. The wind hits you on the 3rd hole but its only a 500 yd par five from the blues so maybe lay up. The eighth is tough its narrow and you shoot over a hazard against the wind for you 2nd. Then the toughest hole is the par 4 9th 420 into the wind. One more tough hole against wind is after the par 5 then smooth sailing in.
A very “Muni” course
Course conditions were average at best- poor fairways- average tee boxes and bumpy and slow greens- course Super needs a new job
Too slow and too slow green
This is my last round at Sunnyvale GC on weekends. It’s not worth playing here for many reasons.
