Golfer Reviews
Extremely fun 9-Holer, slower POP but not terrible
If I remember correctly, there were 5 par 4s, 3 par 3s, and 1 par 5. I’m used to playing west Chester where you’re just getting pummeled by par 3s so having some longer holes off the bat was really cool. Greens and fairways were well kept, tee boxes were not tore up. The only negative, and this wasn’t the courses fault, was that we had gone after a night of rain, so there were some random water pockets on some of the fairways.
Pace of plow was slower but if you’ve ever played westchester and been held up at the second hole then this was lightning speed in comparison. Pretty affordable too. Would play this over the Lakes ANY day. Love the staff at the Lakes but man that course is just not fun to play anymore.
Long 9 hole
Great course to walk with long par 4 fairways a few elevation challenges bunker guarded greens and a tight. Narrow tree lined 390yard fairway on the last hole makes for a satisfyingly stimulating game playtime roughly 2hrs
Conditions great, POP slow
The greens ran great, not many bumpy spots. Conditions were as good as you'll find at an LA muni. Only issue is that they send out 5-somes which slows the play, and if you're behind a slow group, it could take a while. 2.5 hours expected POP
good mid day pace
Pace of play was excellent even with a 5some of beginners in front of us. come 3:30 and after different story
Harbor
A great course. One complaint: there are homeless people wandering throughout the property and setting up camp in the parking lot and across the street. One or two had made a nice picnic in the waiting areas by the diner and putting greens. I was told nothing anyone can do. Yet again LA letting them run the city. I will be checking the homeless levels before playing there again.
Great time despite poor play
This was my third time playing at Harbor over the past 13 months; I was very impressed with the conditions of the fairways and greens. The rough was challenging, and the trees make it very uncomfortable if you develop a slice. I usually have a very good game, but yesterday I took a turn for the worse but had a great time despite my play.
