Great public course for the money
Decent fairway and green for the money. Not too fast, not too slow. Pretty flat but a bit of water, bush, and OB lines come into play, making it somewhat challenging. Could be watered more.
No Grass
Some places have no grass and others are soaked.Greens need to be rolled. Not even a test.
Course Nicer Than I Expected
Maybe the course has spent a little more money the last few months, but after I read other reviews on here I expected a very well loved course. You know, with stuffing leaking out of the golf carts and the fairway missing chunks. Instead the course was fairly well maintained. There were a few dead zones, but overall greens good. Carts good. Tee boxes good.
Exceeded expectations
A twelve hole course far removed from most other courses with a reasonable rate left me with only modest expectations. We enjoyed the layout and the variety of the holes. Most of the greens were far better than the bumpy practice green. Friendly staff - I'd go back
Funky 12 holer
I liked it. If you insist on pristine conditions, stay in Palm Springs. But if you're tired of paying $150 for around of golf and don't mind a cool drive thru the mountains, Hawks Landing is worth it.
Not worth the drive
While not in great condition the Course is easy to play, and 12 holes helps to offset the price. But it's quite a ways out of Palm Springs/Desert. Would not go again unless I was cash strapped, but really wanted to golf.
Family
Everyone at Hawk's made us feel like family. Very fun and relaxing course. Was a great place to start our Indio area vacation.
Great weather day!
I played as a single and the first 12 holes were very slow. After the group ahead moved on things picked up nicely. The course has ONLY 12 holes so you play the first six twice. Usually do better the second time through. I only play here about once a year.
Hmmm
This course has a lot of potential to be great, but it seems ownership doesn’t allocate enough resources for sand in bunkers, well kept greens (which are always bumpy), and other standard maintenance like edging, landscaping or simply mowing tee boxes. Greens and membership fees have been raised significantly, so where are the upgrades? The range balls need replacing. Pins often don’t get moved, so the hole edges start to break down. And how about a little marshaling to keep up pace of play? If you can get a hot deal for $20 it’s worth it, otherwise You might be more satisfied somewhere else.
