Towne Lake Hills Golf Club

Played here a few times now hoping that the pace of play was just a fluke and it would be better next time because the course is fantastic. But every time the pace has been a minimum of 5 hours, usually verging on 6+. I love golf, but I don't love sitting around waiting all day. Wish it were different because i very much enjoy the layout and course its self. Hope they figure this out.

I always enjoy playing Towne Lake Hills. Staff is nice, range is fair and the course is kept in good shape considering how many rounds get played out there. We got to the second tee box to find that we were the 3rd group on the hole (that we could see). Before we finished the hole, a Marshall had taken care of the slow down by asking a group to skip a hole as they were already so far behind pace. I’m sure all golfers that day appreciated the fact that the staff takes pace of play seriously. I know we did. The course is in good shape, greens are soft and have some break in them. They could become very fast if they were rolled. Overall, a fun track…but I didn’t feel that the conditions of the course matched the fee charged for a weekday morning round.

A group of members held everyone up. The ranger said the groups “play for big money”. So, hopefully you don’t get stuck behind a foursome lining up putts for 8s for 2 minutes.

Overall a decent round. Course was in decent condition. The greens were slow and a bit chewed up but over all was enjoyable.

Good course. Staff other than “Bob” the starter are really nice, helpful and welcoming. Bob? Not so much.

Had an enjoyable round as the course was in good shape and beautiful fall weather . Pace of play was excellent and the staff ensures that the play rate matches the course attendance. Never felt pressured and completed 18 holes in less than 4 hours.

Have aways enjoyed Town Lake as it presents a challenge and layout while unique is not unfair. Course requires accurate driving and the terrain provides an opportunity for challenging approach shots .

Course was in good condition especially for early fall. Greens had been plugged several weeks ago but they did not present an issue.

Have always loved the restaurant at the club and the staff is always helpful in the pro shop and on the course .

Great round this week at Town Lake

Course was in good shape greens were recently aerated although I'm not terrible and a decent value.

Had fun playing this Course on a windy day. Twice on the front and back 9 the Marshall came thru and checked if we were happy with the pace of play and thanked us for coming to play there. Will definitely play this Course again soon!

Played the course on a Friday morning and it was very busy but the marshall was busy pushing the pace of play. Course was was in very good condition.

Price increases have made this course less desirable to play. A twilight rate between $42-54 is not a good deal. I can drive 20 minutes over to Bradshaw Farms and play after 5pm for $24. That rate drops to $19 with email specials. Towne Lake does not do enough to separate itself from other North GA courses to charge these rates.

Before i say anything else, the staff and the course are amazing, they handled my situation with class and I will ABSOLUTELY be back. Was just an unfortunate situation.

Unfortunately, I unknowingly had the first tee time after a 32 person tournament. Started off the day alone, enjoying the course, then get stopped two holes in to a 4some taking their time in a leisurely fashion. I ask to play through, get told it's a tournament, and that i will have to play through 32 of them. So i decide to group up with the group behind me to try and slow myself down. Didn't matter in the slightest, at hole 12 it had been roughly 4-1/2 hours and I finally just called it a day. I love golf, but I can't do an almost 8 hour round of golf, that's just insane. So i went to the pro shop, asked for a rain check, and they happily did so. Problem solved.

Moral of the story, ask if they are having any sort of match play going, if they say yes, play somewhere else that day unless you enjoy an 8 hour round of golf.

The layout is super challenging and fun but five hour round was a bit long. The variation of holes I made it a fun round. Usually mid priced but the rate was not good at this time.
