About
Carved from acres of wooded countryside in Woodstock, Towne Lake Hills Golf Club takes advantage of the rolling green hills. The dramatic elevation changes make it difficult to find an even lie anywhere on the course. Arthur Hills, the course's designer, incorporated a variety of challenges that makes each hole unique including a deft smattering of sand bunkers. The golf course depends as heavily on course management and strategy as it does on shot-making skills. It is a challenge to say the least, but it's fair. There are also four sets of tees that make it more approachable. One of the most memorable holes is the fifth. This par 5 presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity that will make you think. Towne Lake Hills G.C. boasts consistently good course conditions and idyllic scenery that make the round even more enjoyable.

Pace of play is a joke
Been here several times. Each time hoping the pace of play is better. Took 5 hours for 12 holes today with people passing us while we’re waiting on a team to tee off. Warden was no help just told us some of them work there. After it took 2 hours for six holes. If you aren’t a member and don’t work here don’t expect any help when it comes to pace a play.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Great round to end the year!
Weather got up to 70 degrees so me and a few buddies grabbed round at Towne Lake! Overall a great day all around. Staff and starter were awesome! Course in great shape for late December. Fairways clear of leaves but you better keep it in the fairway or good luck finding it in the rough where the leaves are moved to. Greens were fast but not too bad.
3 of us have played here a number of times but it was the first time for our 4th and he loved it. Can’t wait to come back in the Spring/Summer!

Another good round at Town Lake
The course was in great shape for mid December play. Fairways were good , greens were very good ....Tee boxes are under winter repair which is a good idea especially on the back 9
Enjoyed the layout and the challenge provided
Staff was great as always ... friendly and professional
Food /Drink at the turn is always good , quick
Would only suggest that the price per round should reflect the seasonal conditions .

Improving but still needs work
This is the course I play when I can''t get on anywhere else. I can usually find a tee time for under $50 so it's decent for the price paid. The greens are usually in good shape, but many of the tee boxes are lacking grass or are uneven and need to be leveled properly. The biggest problem here are the cart paths. Many sections are unpassable and some are even dangerous. I understand that it is expensive to replace the entire cart path system, but they could certainly replace the sections that need attention. I think these are the original cart paths laid down when the course was built and tree roots are causing havoc but that is no excuse. Time to spend the money and get it done! It would make playing there so much more enjoyable.

Get out early!!!!
Scheduled tee time at 9, got out at 8:30 with another single. Had to skip hole #4, 4some wouldn’t allow us to play through. Played through 4 other groups.. finished in 3 hrs.
Great course but can be spoiled by rude individuals (50 YO).
Undulating greens, never really a flat lie on the whole course. Makes for challenging and fun shots!
Will play again, but will make sure I’m scheduled as the first out!

Good course, abysmal pace.
Played here a few times now hoping that the pace of play was just a fluke and it would be better next time because the course is fantastic. But every time the pace has been a minimum of 5 hours, usually verging on 6+. I love golf, but I don't love sitting around waiting all day. Wish it were different because i very much enjoy the layout and course its self. Hope they figure this out.

Great course, a little pricey
I always enjoy playing Towne Lake Hills. Staff is nice, range is fair and the course is kept in good shape considering how many rounds get played out there. We got to the second tee box to find that we were the 3rd group on the hole (that we could see). Before we finished the hole, a Marshall had taken care of the slow down by asking a group to skip a hole as they were already so far behind pace. I’m sure all golfers that day appreciated the fact that the staff takes pace of play seriously. I know we did. The course is in good shape, greens are soft and have some break in them. They could become very fast if they were rolled. Overall, a fun track…but I didn’t feel that the conditions of the course matched the fee charged for a weekday morning round.

Beware of Members
A group of members held everyone up. The ranger said the groups “play for big money”. So, hopefully you don’t get stuck behind a foursome lining up putts for 8s for 2 minutes.

Overall a decent round. Course was in decent condition. The greens were slow and a bit chewed up but over all was enjoyable.
