Towne Lake Hills Golf Club

First time playing the course and was glad I made the drive northward. Fair test from the blue tees and all around good day. I even got paired with Kendall who was quick to offer up a cigar while we battled the course together. Definitely will be back to try and better that 88.

Had to pay $61 for a senior weekday rate!! C’mon man!

I braved the rain, played 9 holes alone. Course was in great shape, even with a couple of days of rain.

Plan to spend at least 5.5/6 hours playing a round here. Pace of play is actually more frustrating than the game - if that’s even possible! Otherwise it’s actually a beautiful course but the pace of play kills it for most!

It has been a few years since I played here but it is vastly improved The course was packed but get well maintained. The greens werre in great shape. The carts could use some upgrades and the cart fairway access (entrance /exit) need to have better visibility to golfers. The cart staff was timely and available on a continual basis. The clubhouse restaurant staff are terrific and the menu is complete for a full day experience.

Just about all blind T-shots except for par threes. Even second shots you cannot see the tee sometimes. It would really be helpful to have a guide sheet to give you the places to hit your misses. A very challenging course for a novice. No wonder why USGA holds tournaments there. I don’t recommend walking it unless you really want a workout. Greens are in good shape once you get there!

I had not played your course in several years and it was the first time I had played it with my three adult sons who are now getting into golf. Other than the tees the course was in very good shape but we will not be back any time soon. When I checked in there were four employees in the pro shop and there were three at the starter's desk when we made the turn. Unfortunately they were not on the course helping speed up play. We saw two rangers on hole 5 and no others the rest of the day. Some presence on the course might have kept the round from taking 5.5 hours. We let a twosome pass us early on although they had nowhere to go. Suddenly on 15 two additional people joined them. I am not sure where they came from. The players behind us drove up behind us as I was hitting my second shot on 13 although they had not teed off. I can only surmise that their rudeness was wondering if we were the delay although we waited on every hole and most shots. A refreshment cart would have been a nice touch on such a hot, humid day. And do not get me started on the sad state of the cart paths.

We are not newcomers to Towne Lake and enjoy this course regularly. On this Memorial Day, however, our round was less than enjoyable. I understand that on a holiday afternoon the course will be busy with a slower pace. However, we were paired up with a dad and his three daughters, only one of which paid to play. I have nothing against a father taking his kids on the course to enjoy the round, but golf etiquette was not followed. The kids left carts behind, took shots when they wanted, and chatted throughout most of our shots. The father said nothing to curb any of this.

Again I have no problem with parents bringing kids to ride or play, and I hope they had a good time. But I would expect Towne Lake to set some expectations to this family so as to not distract other golfers and slow down the pace of play.

I played here on 6 June. It was a slow play nightmare. Despite the fact that there were multiple golf staff and marshals managing the course at the front end, they were too busy visiting with one another to go out to the course and manage the slow play. For example, the group in front of us was for novice golfers in their 20s, playing from the back tees and they couldn’t even hit the ball to the fairway in some cases. They were constant gaps of a half a hole to a hole and we only saw one Marshall the entire round. We finally quit after 13 holes because we were on a 5 1/2 hour plus pace. Despite the fact that there are signs everywhere saying 4 1/2 hours is the maximum round time acceptable. This course has a problem with their personnel who are way too comfortable and don’t manage the course properly. It’s a decent layout, with some challenging holes and from the back tees is a good golf course. I’ve played here many times but it’s going to be a long time before I come back on a weekend. It was just ridiculous.

Challenging, fun course. Fairways and greens well maintained. Lots of elevation changes. Fairways are narrow with side slope that requires keeping ball in center of fairway.

Recommend playing one tee box shorter than normal so you can focus on accuracy more vs distance.

Many changes made here for the worse since the end of 2020. 1. Pace of play used to be enforced continuously. This is NO longer the case. 5 hour rounds are now typical and even have had 6 hour rounds. This is unacceptable.

Price is never the same and no one can explain why. Always have booked on the courses website.

They used to offer a player's card that allowed you to receive free greens fees after 5 rounds, they told us in January a replacement was coming and it never did.
