About
Carved from acres of wooded countryside in Woodstock, Towne Lake Hills Golf Club takes advantage of the rolling green hills. The dramatic elevation changes make it difficult to find an even lie anywhere on the course. Arthur Hills, the course's designer, incorporated a variety of challenges that makes each hole unique including a deft smattering of sand bunkers. The golf course depends as heavily on course management and strategy as it does on shot-making skills. It is a challenge to say the least, but it's fair. There are also four sets of tees that make it more approachable. One of the most memorable holes is the fifth. This par 5 presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity that will make you think. Towne Lake Hills G.C. boasts consistently good course conditions and idyllic scenery that make the round even more enjoyable.

One of my fav local public courses
Great course, especially if you get a hot deal! Pricey on weekend but overall one of my favorites in north Georgia
Hard and fast
Course in overall good condition but dry fairways which are extremely hard leaving lots of unfavorable lies. Greens very hard as well and not very receptive. Course difficult for an average golfers.

Towne Lake
Bridgemill is a much better course. More bang for the buck. Seems like we were hitting off of Hard Pan much of the day.

Sunday golf outing
Overall course was in good shape, all of staff, minus beverage cart attendant were most hospitable! Rangers need to do better job of moving groups along or allowing others to play through when seeing a group struggling. Clubhouse and pro shop were A1.

Course greening up nicely but very slow
Course is greening up nicely but due to the beautiful weather the pace of play was slower than usual. This course already takes 4.5 normally to complete due to the hole spacing but was much worse today.

Great course
Course was still in spring shape. Some areas had no grass that should have. That said course was mostly terrific. Staff was mostly friendly. Pace of play was fine.

Challenging course
This is a nice course that will challenge your shot making talents.
First time I've played here this season. Greens appear to have been aerated about a month ago and are in good condition. Tee boxes and fairways fine.
No complaints other than a few swings I took :)

Towne Lakes
Course was in decent shape for this time of year. Greens had just been aerated, but they had told me beforehand. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Good, Not Great
Slow pace of play. The aim there is 4.5 hour but that is a long time to shoot for. Took us 4.5, but the two groups ahead of us didnt show, so we had 2 holes wide open to start. Be prepared to wait on every shot.
Also due to the hills, most shots are blind, which is fine, but be prepared to loose some balls, even those that land in the fairway, as they are slopped and run off into hazards

In Bad Shape
Course will get better as it gets warmer, but for now stay away. Horrible condition! Fairways are like dirt paths...greens are pretty good though.
