About

The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Nice View!

Played this course 3 times, with my nephew on our visit to Kona, Hawaii. A bit pricey but the course and scenery are excellent! Close to our Vrbo, which made the decision easier to play even though the price. Our last time playing was on a Sunday, which made the round a bit long. Play on a weekday and you won't be disappointed!

Incredible views and many holes you are right on the coast.

Kona country club

We had a great time playing at the Kona Country Club. First of all, the course conditions were very nice. Mauna Lani was slightly better, but we had no complaints about Kona CC. The greens were in excellent shape. The layout was quite challenging, but fair. Playing in the South part of the island is cooler which is nicer than the Waikoloa area courses. We will be back.

Can be good value.

Course was in good condition. Fairways and greens. Played the course twice. First time $160, next time was $99. Second round was slower, no marshal. They were 20 minutes behind at 10:30 AM. Couldn’t get cart until 5 minutes before we teed off. Can’t hit driver on range. Range only had 1 range bucket for balls. Worth playing, very friendly holes, not difficult.

KCC is probably my favorite course on the island. The view from most holes is fabulous. You can see whales from the course sometimes. It is always in good condition.
