The course’s first hole, set along the reservoir, typifies the subtlety and beauty of this layout. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/22/2020

Five exemplifies the quality of Tillinghast’s bunkering. And it’s a terrific short 3-par. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/22/2020

Green twelve has a mysterious look in the shadows. Then again, it mystifies golfers who land short and must pitch to the pin. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/22/2020

Eighteen: A minimalist hole, but a great one. It plays toughest when the pin is on the upper, back tier. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/22/2020

We quit after playing 10 holes as we were already three and a half hours into the round and looking at darkness and a six hour round of golf. Very poor place of play and no ranger to keep it moving.
always a great course
MCC has been around for ever and even in times of less play they manage to do well for a MUNI course. Reason
great staff
great grounds crew
and a fabulous layout
its always worth the trip
One our favorites
Worcester Tuesday Golf Group return to Manchester once again from beginning to end we enjoyed every aspect of this course .
Staff friendly, course conditions excellent we hope we can return some time later in the year. We had 20 players which sometimes could cause a little concern especially since they had a tournament also scheduled but they made it work everyone was happy we can't wait to go back.
Great Condition
Nice course very well kept. Greens firm but rolled true. Pace of play very slow, had an event ahead that probably was not timed well. But with deals great value for an above average course.
Alway good
The course is nice. had a group slowing everything down but it was the weekend. Good layout, nice greens, could still be faster but nice. worth it
Besides the guys behind us following so closely a ball almost hit us, this course is really great. Beautiful all around. I would go here again definitely
Course in poor shape. If you don’t hit fairway it is bogey golf. Someone dropped the ball!
Course is in good shape
Course was in decent shape, but the greens were a bit overgrown and slow. Maybe because they could not mow it due to the rains.
And would be nice if people playing here fixed their ball marks. Not the Management's problem - more a reflection on the players.
Manchester course is in great shape
Manchester CC is in great shape. The fairways, traps, and greens were superior. Lunch on the patio was also excellent and fairly priced.
Classic
This is a course from the Golden Age of design. It is not very long. You will hit mostly wedges and 9 irons into the greens. There is room to miss off the tee and the greens are moderate in terms of slope, many have a ridge running through them. It is an easy walk accept the front nine ends as far away from the clubhouse as possible. The holes are interesting and the trademark is the back to back par 5s on both the front and back. They are three shots for most people. The par 3s could use some variety, 2 are downhill, one is up hill, one is level. The bunkering is not consistent from hole to hole and could stand a historical reexamination and restoration. They should look to Keney Park, an Emmet course that has undergone a superb renovation. You will enjoy the closing three holes, 16-18 are great (I miss the willow on 18) and 6 is probably the best par 4 in CT.
MCC 11/5
The course was in great shape. Lies in the fairway were nice. The rough was a little difficult to find your ball in, but not unplayable. The greens were somewhat hard and fast, but rolled true. Probably running around 12. Played with two strangers. Had a great time! Too bad they don't offer better rates for nonresidents.
Great course
Fun course in great condition. Undulating fast greens are difficult to score well on despite being in excellent condition. Scenic challenging layout, very enjoyable round.
interesting layout
played here for the first time. interesting layout with 2 back to back par 5's on each side. Quite a scenic course.
Interesting layout!
Back-to-back par 5s on both the front and back, short par 3s (and a longer one), out-and-back layout, multiple road (highway!) crossings. This is an old school layout that is in fairly good shape (except for the greens--slow and not putting true). Fun to play if you are in the area, but not worth a long drive to get there. Just watch the road crossings, the cars don't slow down for golfers!
Unfriendly
Very unfriendly staffs and none smiling people walking around. Met two foursome in front of us and they wouldn't let us play through. End up leaving without playing 4 holes. Mention this to the proshop and they couldn't do anything for us. The course layout seem fun to play but the people there make me not to come back there.
Great New England Course (Old-School)
The course is in great shape. I'm a member and would prefer people not come out to keep the place to myself but you're doing yourself a disservice to play at: Topstone, Blackledge, Tallwood, Rolling Meadows, Tunxis, Blue Fox, Tower Ridge, Lyman, and many other public courses in the central ct valley. They added irrigation and drainage to many parts of the course this year - the course improves every year. The greens have been consistently fast but rolling nicely, the tees and fairways are beautiful, and the rough can be very tough on days when it isn't cut. This course is very walkable (no 400 yard paths from green to tee), and offers a challenge to all levels of golfers. Greens are generally pretty large with some steep undulations (really flag dependent).
The only thing that needs some work are the bunkers. Some are beautiful and some are a little rocky/ hardpacked.
The staff is very friendly. Weekends there is a cart girl stationed at the 5/13 tee. 9th hole stand offers beer and food (cheese dogs are awesome if you like to eat while you play). Also there is a bar/ cafe with outdoor seating and great salads/ burgers/ beer in the clubhouse.
This place deserves more love.
