About
Owned and operated by the Byron Forest Preserve District, Prairieview Golf Course sits on a scenic stretch of land that overlooks the Rock River. The layout will test different skills with plenty of variety, offering both open, links-style holes and tight, tree-lined holes. The design takes advantage of the rolling terrain, incorporating the varying elevations into the large and undulating greens. The breaks can make the greens hard to read and they're made even more challenging by more than 60 bunkers strategically places along the borders. There are also water hazards in the form of ponds and a meandering stream that come into play on five holes. In addition to the course, there is also a 15-acre practice facility with a driving range, two putting greens, and chipping and pitching greens with two bunkers.

Always love to play Prairie View! Great shape, folks very nice whenever I’ve been there and fun to play.
Speedy and True
This is my second time playing Prairie View. Fantastic driving range. Both covered and uncovered areas, depending on the weather. The practice green is very accurate to playing conditions. Greens are fast but true. Stay below the hole. Great layout, fairways were perfect, rough was lush, and bunkers were plentiful. Truly an excellent course and fun challenge. Hit’em straight!!
This course is a lot of fun to plau
Course has really good greens. Course is in great conditions and good pace of play. Back 9 was my favorite with some open fairways and decent hills.
Pristine condition
Love playing prairieview because the course condition is always excellent. The greens are in fantastic shape along with the fairways, tee boxes, and even the rough is at a perfect height without it being too punishing.i love the layout of this course and how friendly all the staff are the moment you walk in! Thank you for a great round time in and time out! Hecho played my third round there this summer and I will be back soon!!
Love Prairie view
We played 36 that day..... I loved every minute of it. Prairie view is a great course with a fantastic layout that can challenge even the best golfers. The greens are tough.... So bring your A game.
Absolute Gem
PV is an amazing track. Tees, fairways, bunkers are meticulously maintained. Greens are fast and true. Practice area and driving range are state of the art. After a 3.5 hour round, we went to the course’s grill for lunch. Lots of great options for food and craft beers.
Course has great character and variety of required shots. On top of everything, the last 2 times I played PV, the course workers were riding around talking to the patrons regarding the course.
1 hour ride from Northwest suburbs. Totally worth the ride!
We'll be back
Course was in Excellent condition. Pace on the front 9 was slow...but the Ranger took care of it and let us know what was going on. Kudos.

We went out there and played 36 holes and loved every minute of it. Prairie view is an underrated high quality golf course. The holes are challenging, The greens are tough, And you can find trouble around every turn.
I always look forward to going out there and playing and look forward to the next time I get the opportunity to go. I highly recommend this course for anybody who likes a good challenge but still is a fair course. The par fives are good birdie holes but you have to make well placed shots. There are some good birdie holes on the front and back 9 (3, 5, 7, 12, 14, 18) but don't take them for granted because you can make mistakes.
Overall....You will love this course. NOTE: HOLE 2, par 5, does have some ground repair issues in the fairway....but don't let that bother you.

I always look forward to a great round of golf at Prairie view…..and it never disappoints!!
The course is always in fantastic shape and beautifully manicured. The greens like always were in fantastic shape. The attention to detail and the friendliness of the staff as always is second to none.

Money
This place is so money it’s a revelation. I work at a baller private golf course in the suburbs and this place is on the same wave length. The layout is stunning. Place is awesome.
Beautiful Course
When me and my buddy arrived we went to the driving range and half way through our session we had the pro shop coach come out and help us with our swings. My buddy greatly improved his game just from the 10-15 mins he took out of his day to help us out.

Best course in Northern Illinois
Prairie View never disappoints. Fairways, and greens were in great condition. Just a great course to golf without paying the high dollar for the prestigious courses. Plus having Prairie Fire driving range to come to for beverages after is amazing! Neelie and Morgan are awesome servers and bartenders. Food there is great! Look forward to coming back!
