An Honest Review
Here is an honest and to-the-pont review. The elevation changes are significant from Hole 1 to Hole 18, with only two flat holes which were par-3s. Lots of blind shots to fairways that slope away and you have no idea what is beyond the crest of the fairway. Several holes I could not hit driver because I would end up with a severe down-hill lie, so I had to hit an iron. The tee box conditions were not even mediocre, quite bad. The fairways were average condition. The greens were terrible. Lots of bare areas and they have been heavily sanded. Forget accurate putting. I would not play there again even if it was free. Just a ridiculous layout with ridiculous elevation changes. Whoever built the course must not have believed in actually moving dirt to make a layout.
Greens
Fairways were very good and challenging, greens a different story. A lot of sand filled in to mask imperfections, need to be replaced immediately. Bunkers very shallow. Beautiful landscape.
Great time out
The staff makes the place even better than the course, which is really nice. The greens roll true. The bunkers need some attention, but I guess since my group luckily missed them it didn't bother us at all. Looking forward to playing it again.
Overall decent
The course is in decent shape overall except most of the greens had a lot of bare spots. One green had long runners from the grass around the cup which made for very inconsistent putting. If the greens were in better shape, this would have been a much better outing.
Fantastic place to golf
Golf experience was great. Good value, great people, beautiful course.
Friday morning golf
It has been a while since I have golfed here. The course was in great shape for middle of summer. Fairways were perfect greens in awesome shape only one with some rough patches.
Glad the course has been taken care of nicely.
Good conditions on a challenging course
Fairways have filled in nicely with the hot weather plus rainfall. No longer thin and baked out. Greens were medium fast and rolled very smoothly. Scenery is always a treat. Worth the trip.
Not much of a driving range. Multiple putting/chipping greens but the practice greens were inconsistent with the greens in the course. Nice layout and pace of play was pretty quick despite how crowded it was. The food at the halfway house was pretty awful. The pre-cook all of the food, then throw it in a microwave to heat up when ordered. Overall I enjoyed my experience but I had one major issue: they moved my tee time without telling me. I booked a 9:45 tee time as a single, and they moved me up to 9:28 without notifying me, not even when I checked in at the front desk. I understand these things happen because the course wants to maximize the number of players, but let me know next time so I’m not playing catch up for the first 6 holes.
Woodland Hills First Play
Course in good shape, nice variety. Great value. Need to enforce pace of play. Courteous staff.
Poor pace of play
The course was very slow mid day on a Sunday. We ended up playing being a group of 6 for several holes. Fairways were in good shape. Greens were punched recently and very slow. No beverage cart on a hot and humid day along with no water stations. Bring plenty to keep hydrated.
