Good conditions on a challenging course
Fairways have filled in nicely with the hot weather plus rainfall. No longer thin and baked out. Greens were medium fast and rolled very smoothly. Scenery is always a treat. Worth the trip.
Not much of a driving range. Multiple putting/chipping greens but the practice greens were inconsistent with the greens in the course. Nice layout and pace of play was pretty quick despite how crowded it was. The food at the halfway house was pretty awful. The pre-cook all of the food, then throw it in a microwave to heat up when ordered. Overall I enjoyed my experience but I had one major issue: they moved my tee time without telling me. I booked a 9:45 tee time as a single, and they moved me up to 9:28 without notifying me, not even when I checked in at the front desk. I understand these things happen because the course wants to maximize the number of players, but let me know next time so I’m not playing catch up for the first 6 holes.
Woodland Hills First Play
Course in good shape, nice variety. Great value. Need to enforce pace of play. Courteous staff.
Poor pace of play
The course was very slow mid day on a Sunday. We ended up playing being a group of 6 for several holes. Fairways were in good shape. Greens were punched recently and very slow. No beverage cart on a hot and humid day along with no water stations. Bring plenty to keep hydrated.
Rough Day
Greens were SLOW and nappy. Had to smash putts to get them to the hole, and despite them being slow they were unreceptive. Played the first 7 holes in good time. Got to 8 and had to sit and wait for two groups on the tee box from 8-12. I left because I didn’t want to spend all day on the course.
Very relaxed
Staff is super friendly and aren’t snobs, not a super nice course but course is maintained well, if your looking for a decent course, good pace, and relaxed fun play woodland hills is the spot, place will eat your lunch too!
Wouldn’t recommend
They let 5somes play on the weekend, the 5 in front of us we’re running the carts next to the green, they had signs saying no cooolers but most brought theirs, beer cans thrown down on the course. I complained to the marshals and they laughed it off. They could use new management and stricter enforcement to help make it an enjoyable experience
PLAYED TWILIGHT ROUND WITH SON & NEPHEW.
WE ALL ENJOYED OURSELVES
Fun to play
Have played this course since it was Royal Oaks, much nicer and better shape now than ever.Staff is always very friendly.I would recommend this course to any and all who love the game!!
Bald spots
This course was a lot of fun to play. The greens were fine but there are some bad spots in the fairways, no grass but hard red Georgia clay. For the money though, it’s hard to beat. Will definitely go back.
Woodland Hills
I’ve played this course many times and it is well worth the money. Not extremely maintained but for the cost it’s well up to par. Very well space out players even when it’s busy. I will play this course again.
