Nice course
Played at 630 am.. course is in good condition. Some of the tee boxs it was hard to get tee in due the the hard dirt. Greens were in good shape and pins placed just right so you had to think about your approach shots.
Stepped it up from last year.
The course was the best it's been in the past few years and the clubhouse has been nicely remodeled. The entire staff was very hospitable, friendly and smiled. A special mention to the course manager. He was very welcoming!
Terrific Updates!
Course is in great shape, although some traps are hard and Rocky.
Clubhouse improved beer selection, and added a grill outside. Really nice improvements!
Nice layout and fun to play
Red Tail is sort of a hidden gem. It's a little out of the way, but worth the drive. All the holes are unique and it's a good test. They had 3 1/2 inches of rain 2 days earlier, and there were a couple of soggy spots, but no restrictions on carts and the course was in good condition. There are some homes bordering the course, but you'd have to hit a wild one to find a back yard. It was a hot day and not too crowded. We played as a twosome and had to wait on most holes, but still finished in 4 hrs 25 mins. Not much of a clubhouse, but nice fresh grilled brats at the turn. Course always has deals, so it's a real bargain for a nice track.
Freat value
Friendly staff, they were offering water refills on course throighout day, food was good and prices fair, course in great shape and improvements to drainage in low lying areas were noticable. Pace of play was pretty good for a very humid day with only backups on par 3’s.
RedTail GC
For myself, not a course to walk.
With the weather we've had the course was in excellent condition. Greens were true and well groomed.
Redtail 6/14
Always enjoy this course. Fairly open off tees, but still challenging to all level of players. This day was a bit backed up with novice, couples..12 48 tee time. But all in all one of our go to's in Cary/ Crystal Lake area.
Mjhopper
Love this course, the only problem was the greens were not cut and the tee boxes weren't either made for a really tough day. And then got behind a foursome that fell a hole and a half behind finally got past them on the 7th hole a to skip a hole though everytime we would approach them they would take off.
Nice Course
Have played here before and like the course. We play different courses each week and come here 1 or 2 times a year. Not near the top of our list of favorites, but a good value. Greens were a little slow and may not have been cut the day we played due to the fact we had a lot of rain a day or 2 before. The traps seemed a bit crusty and could use some work. All that said, we will be back.
RedTail is a challenging course that’s also fun to play.
The greens ran true even though they were a little slower than I expected. But, than again, I prefer fast greens.
The fairways were in excellent condition as were the tee boxes.
The rough was rather short. This could be because of the time of year. So I wasn’t too concerned when I missed a fairway.
The only fault I found was with some bunkers. A few of the bunkers had hard sand and were therefore difficult to navigate at least for me.
I think there are a sufficient number of ponds strategically placed on the course that should grab your attention.
I really enjoyed my round at RedTail. The course is about thirty-five miles from my house. So it has to be good to motivate me to make the trip.
Early season
The course was in good shape considering how early it was in the season. Looked a little strange because they had just burned the wetlands. All in all a good round.
Horrible arrived and had to wait for cart 30 minutes
Took 5 1/2 hours fur 10 holes rangers drive by and don’t say anything to slow players
Excellent course conditions
Redtail is a great course in the far northwest suburbs of Chicago. The conditions were fabulous for this time of year, with both the greens and fairways in great shape. Really enjoyed the layout with a nice mix of challenging and easier holes. Multiple sets of tees to choose from as well. Would definitely recommend Redtail if you live in the northwest suburbs.
