Green Garden Gold
We love this course. The state of the course has improved so much over the past two years and we are happy to be able to play there again.
Green Garden (Gold)
Very challenging course. Great course for the money.
Needs maintenance
Both of the 18 hole courses at Green Garden were once well above average. Interesting layout yet still playable and great conditions. Conditions have deteriorated noticeable. The greens were nice, but most of the rest of the course was hard and dry. It looks like they have not been aerating. Many of the greens had a lot of weeds on them. I guess they are on a tight budget like many courses these days. Play it if you get a deal. Otherwise, there are better options.
OK course
OTHER THAN THE SAND TRAPS, THE COURSE WAS IN VERY NICE SHAPE. THE RESTRAURANT FOOD WAS EXCELLENT.
Course in good shape for August
The greens and fairways are in good shape..some tee boxes are little wore , probably due to heavy play and less rotation.
Course is in great shape
The course was in great shape I had a 612 am tee time but the started let me get out early instead of setting me up with a threesome I was booked with. I played the course in 2hrs flat.
This course can lull you into mistakes pretty easily. Back of green run offs that you can't see from the fairway kind of things, and then the 18th. Someday I'll remember not to hit driver on this hole:) landing area with the driver is less then 10 yards wide with water on one side and giant trees on the other.
Definitely worth a play and always has good rates.
The Gold course is tougher than the Blue course.
The gold course has more desired landing areas to stay out of trouble. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Pace of play around 4 hours while waiting only a couple of times. I would say the Gold course plays about 5 shots more than the Blue course. Can't go wrong with either course.
Friendly Course
The greens were rough and slow and inconsistent but everything else was in great shape.
Terrible
They lied to Golf Now when I tried to get a raincheck after I only played 12 holes. They told Golf Now they saw me on the 18th hole. It was a total lie. This golf course is a joke with terrible staff and customer service. Do not pay to play here ever.
Wide Open Memorial Day weekend
Booked a round midday Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Was forecasted to be the only nice day of the weekend so I expected a packed course. Not only was the course completely open, but it was a gorgeous day. Wide open fairways, but quite a few trees, bunkers, and water hazards on the Gold course make it scenic challenge. Glad I found this green oasis tucked away in the farm fields of rural Frankfort.
First time at course
Paid to play the Gold Course since I had tried to play the Blue last year, but got rained out. If you use GolfNow they simply give you a 'ticket' when you check in and it doesn't say which course you are playing. Got to the starter and he asked which course I wanted to play since there was a foursome of young women who were teeing off on the Gold Course. I told him that I paid for Gold so that's what I was going to play. He didn't seem pleased, but said it was my call. The women were not great and struggled off the tee and with their subsequent shots. I teed off, but then decided to pass them. Once I got past them, each twosome and threesome in front of them let me play through. Nice bunch of people out there that day. Shot well, had perfect weather, and met some nice folks that let me play through. What's not to like.
Course has enough holes for any golfer
Had no problems for a February golf date. Greens were a little bumpy and slow. Just what you would except for a February round of golf in the Midwest during winter
