Great course in good condition.
I enjoy playing this course because when you think you can whip it , it jumps up and grabs you.
Shoal Creek
Very likable golf course. Takes you away from all the daily clutter. Great assorted hole lay-outs.
doable for the money
This coarse has a,good layout that requires quality shots, specially off the tee. Always has 3.7 rated greens, decent fairways, and tee boxes. A little rough around the edges with bare spots and hardpan specially in overhanging tree areas. Good test of golf.
great greens
Staff is always friendly and the value is great for the money. That hole # 18 is a monster.
A nice course thats not to difficult.
Have played many courses. This one is great for the intermediate to beginning golfer. Greens were in great condition. Overall the course was in good shape. It will be a little more difficult when it warms up. I will play this course again.
Great Value for your money!
Discovered this course due to its recent add on GolfNow.com. I have played this course twice in a 30 day period. Course was in great shape even during the dormant winter season. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Excellent value for the money. Nice pricing even on weekends. Can't wait to play when it gets warmer and everything is greened up.
Fun
I have played this course before and it is a layout that I enjoy not too difficult but challenging. The new ownership has done a lot of work on the course and it is in fantastic shape, the greens are rolling good.
Nice Country Club Setting
Shoal Creek formerly Griffin Country Club course, nicely designed with some water hazards and well placed sand traps. Fairways and greens both in good shape. Course is somewhat short from blue tees, but very few straight holes so is more about course management than length.
I play here regularly and find it a good challenge for intermediate players. The course rewards solid ball-strikers and those who can shape shots left to right and right to left. Rates are very reasonable, especially WInter, and staff is both friendly and knowledgeable.
new name , new greens ", this course is back!"
I have played this course 3 years ago when it was
griffin country club the course was o k but not country club conditions. Now the course has the new fantastic hybrid greens . the new owner has brought this course back to great conditions. The course now is on the golf now program great low cost green fees. Me and my golf buddies know a great deal when we see it . We will be back time and time again to get this one !
thanks' billy
Fun course to play.....excellent but tough greens
Nice course located in Griffin, GA. Older private club that was recently open to the public. Updated greens are excellent and course is challenging but not too difficult. Will be playing again soon.
Great course for any handicap player
A mix of narrow and wide fairways.
If you are careless with your driver carry some extra balls.
Very smooth and quick greens.
If you want to play a great course it is worth the drive.
The Reason I drive 30 plus miles
This is a up and coming course it only get better and better
New Name, great shape
The course is in great shape, especially the greens. The back nine showed some signs of aeration, but still rolled true. The fairways or nice, off the fairway can be tough, little long probably can stand for an inch or so cutoff, but still able to locate the ball. The staff was very friendly and helpful, actually let us tee off a little early knowing they had a group outing around 9am. I liked the course when it was under the name of Griffin Country Club, but really love the place now especially the Staff.
Great experience
This course is a must play!!!! From tee to green everything was in excellent condition. Fairways have bunkers (with real sand) many of the greens are protected by bunkers, the greens has some undulation ,depending on flag placement can make putting a challenge. The course is clearly marked for hazards & out of bounds.
It's worth the ride especially for the cost. Will definitely get the fellas together for a nice round of golf
course flows nicely through woods
Very good value. Nice layout. Greens good. Course
has a nice variety of holes.
Thoroughly enjoyed playing this course.
Nice course. Bermuda greens were in good shape. Not too difficult but still challenging.
Good course and great lay out
A lot of work had went into up keeping the course. Greens are in great condition. It's a fun course to play and from the back tees some holes are a great challenge Will need to hit the driver straight on a lot of holes. A good course worth the money. Play it and u will see
Charming older course
Wide fairways, Large greens. Several hills to add to the challenge.
Ladies tee are combined with the Men's white tees on some holes.....sorta strange.
A fun course....my wife loved it.
Maybe the top value in the area
The Club at Shoal Creek was formerly known as Griffin Country Club. It re-opened sometime in the last year with the new name & under new ownership. One of the first things the new owner did was replace the greens and it shows. For the most part, they are really in great shape. The course overall was in good shape, especially for the price. We paid $20+ tax and it is certainly the best course in this area I've played for that price. Looking forward to playing here more often as it is only about 20 minutes from my house.
