Course Needs to Manage Pace of Play
I've played this course several times and its a nice course, but this time the pace of play was horrible. Our group waited on every hole after the first hole for at least 5-10 minutes each time. When we got to #2 there was a group on the green and a group in the fairway waiting. The group in front of us left on the 17th hole, and we left after playing #16 as well.. The ranger would be driving around but I don't know what he was doing because he certainly wasn't pushing groups to pick up the pace. This seems to be a problem with Hilldale they never seem to worry about bottlenecks or how to relieve them. Word to the wise if you're looking to book a round here make sure that you notice times that are not available when you book which will give you an idea of how crowded the course will be. If there is slim pickings go to another course. The constant waiting just throws off your game. I understand usually when you start off it might be a bit slow, but usually it picks up. I've never played a course where I waited at every hole for an extended period. They need to do something like increase the time between tee times or something because its frustrating to have a round like this.

Slow play ruin day
Course was in great condition..But once of play ruin day..As I approached the Course observer the back nine was empty..But by our 2nd hole there was already a backup..Waited almost 10 min every hole..Numerous what looked like rangers drove by us throughout the round but still the backup..When we finally reached the 18 was saw that foursome in front of us had quit..Well we did the same when we saw the 4some that caused the problem was just teeing off..Over 5 hour round..

It was a horrible experience.
Staff were rude. They made us start 10th hole even though we bought 18 holes. Course condition was not nice. It’s not worth for the money.

Nice course
Got a bit of a price break with a Hot Deal thru GolfNow. Only real negative was pace of play. Started out good, but after the turn got slow. Group in front of us was slow. We’re putting and can see them not even getting ready to tee off on a par 4, with no one one their green. We consistently had to wait, when there wasn’t anyone in front of them. No ranger to help the situation. Course itself was in pretty good shape.

The 2 nines seemed almost like different courses, the front being relatively short and straight with minimal hazards, while the back has a number of longer holes, water hazards and forced carries. The fairway conditions were just okay and the greens still had remnants of recent aeration. I enjoyed playing and will probably visit again in the future, but not on a regular basis.
