About
Nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains, Sugar Hill Golf Club tumbles across elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course is artfully laid across the rolling hills, weaving through stands of mature trees, to provide it with the maximum level of challenge and the best views. The natural contours played a role in determining the placement of the bunkers around the greens and fairways as well as shaping the sharp doglegs. As if the golf course didn't already have enough challenges, there are also deep grass canyons and water hazards to contend with. The par-4 fifth and the par-3 12th are memorable water holes, both featuring large lakes that lurk in front of the greens. Sugar Hill G.C. is known as one of the toughest golf courses in the area.

Great course Rough Greens
I liked the course very much, but the greens were very poor condition.

Not worth it
I played here 5 years ago and it was not good then and even worse now. Greens are aweful with patches and not cut in days. Most fairways are cart path only which I really do not understand since its a tough walk and not even nice grounds.The par 5 9th is terrible to walk to your shots,extremly hilly and unsafe with rocks and debri everywhere. They did have 3 different marshalls drive around and were nice enough but make no sense to have these giys drive around.Of course no on course beverages.I

Horrible greens
I’ve been to this course 3 times over the past 12 months and every single time this course is in bad shape. The absolute worst greens I’ve ever played on every time. They didn’t even have a cart guy/girl going around offering refreshments. Save your money and play elsewhere this course is bad and always will be. There also wasn’t a warning about greens or course conditions this place is just bad.

Serious elevation changes, have to carry water or ravines. Makes it fun and challenging

A great value
Sugar Hill has a great layout, rarely is it in its best condition (that was prior to the Mayors "cup" ) last year., It's hilly, drains well after rain, tight so accuracy is a premium, but greens are slow, and bunkers are average. The staff is very friendly and it's the best value for the money in the area. I play it regularly.

Course is the best kept secret in the area….from Botha price and challenge perspective. Staff is great, very friendly, yet they keep the pace of the golfers so there’s never any real waiting.
