Heritage Golf Links - Legacy Nine

Replayed this course for about the 8th time. I am going out of my way to write this review as a warning to fellow golfers.

TLDR: Heavy maintenance, poor course conditions, slow play, and weird greens - PASS and wait until June/July when expected completion is done.

First off, this course is ALWAYS relatively booked and crowded, with no marshals. Expect a 4+ hour round no matter what. Oh, it's also mostly CART PATH ONLY right now, which makes pace an absolute slog.

I am a somewhat high handicap golfer/weekend warrior - The low price and 20 mins away is the main draw for me, but after playing today, I am going to skip this place for several months.

This is a 27 Hole establishment - Last year, one of the 9-hole sections "Tradition" was closed for renovations. When I booked I saw my pairing would finally get to play these holes.

Unfortunately, by the 3rd hole we were regretting booking at all. There were still MASSIVE amounts of construction/maintenance being done. Fairways, while still dormant were so soft it was really hard to play anywhere.

Construction and heavy equipment laid through out the 9, lake was drained, and bunkers were mostly mud and unplayable outside of a few holes.

Greens were great in a few spots, but others needed lots of work. The difficulty and pin placements I think were intentional to make up for the bad rest of the course.

Overall this place isn't worth the $40 right now. No clue why its always so crowded.

The foursome in front of us took 20 minutes on the first hole while the starter and I watched and was only slower from there.

PLEASE AVOID....FOR NOW. The fact "Tradition" was under construction only to find it still under heavy construction with a drained lake and bad bunkers I felt fooled.

I was advised renovations should be done by early summer. Will try giving this place another chance. Staff is friendly and range is ok. Carts have GPS.

Very confusing course layout due to construction going on everywhere. I would wait until they finish construction before playing again. Right now it's just not worth the slow pace of play, and confusing layout. My carts GPS didn't even know where it was and kept giving wrong hole messages.

I’ve played here several times & really enjoyed the course & layout but always noticed players playing multiple balls & not being courteous of faster players it’s outrageous how bad pace of play is & that was definitely the final straw for me not to mention greens are bad in some holes no restrooms on the course so I’m done

Heritage 9 plus a few other holes are being remodeled. There are several holes with much shorter yardage because tee boxes have been moved up dramatically.

This course is pretty nice but expect to 2-3 putt. Greens are extremely unrelated with flags placed in the worst positions. The greens keeper’s wife doesn’t make him dinner if you know what I mean.

I paid a deposit of $9.64 with my AMEX card when I booked with GN. I was charged the regular rate of $60.40, but used my Visa at check in.

Every time I play this course, I get to the tee box and there are at least 2-3 groups of 4 waiting on the first tee. Every. Time. It is unbelievable. We were a twosome and it took us 1.5hrs to play the first 4 holes. We tee’d off at 1pm and didn’t even get to finish our round before dark.

If this was a single occurrence, it would be no big deal, but it happens every time I play this course, which is a shame because I love the layout, but it is completely overbooked with tee times way too close together.

As one would expect this time of year, the greens on the back 9 were a little rough but the course overall was outstanding. Great design and very tough.
