Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Slow play
Course is great, staff excellent, but pace of play was very slow
First time
First time Arrowhead and I really liked the layout. The course is tough. Condition for time of year was good(end of Feb) Staff was excellent from the girl who brought a cart to my car to the girl checking me in. Outstanding!. A gentleman greeted me at the end of my round and asked for feedback. Stall was excellent
So much potential
I keep hoping they can sort out the tee and trap conditions. I get it that traps are a manpower vacuum, so, get rid of all except those needed green side.
Front side took 2 hrs 40 minutes, back was a little better but round still took just under 5 hours. I enjoy the company of my playing partners, but a 5 hour round is frustrating.
The restaurant graciously found us a table, though the dining room was virtually sold out. One of my playing partners is a bit of a food "snob", but RAVED over his order of fried oysters.
GA’s Best Hidden Gem
Wow. This is my second time here and it is now one of my favorites in the state. It is such a beautiful, challenging course with insane Mountain Views on a lot of the holes. You can hear a pin drop on the front nine. The conditions are great, especially for winter. Plus, to top it off, I never see anyone here and it’s 30 - 40 bucks to play. Everyone should go play here.
Great as usual
The course was in it's normal great shape! The greens are tricky, but were a little slower than normal. Overall, still a great golf experience.
Beautiful and challenging
Great course. Though quite remote. Punishing uneven lies if you don’t know the course or have poor accuracy like me.. massive elevation changes make club selection challenging. Add a little bit of wind and blamo your OB. Quite a wake up call for me since I’ve been playing in Florida this past year. Loved it will for sure play again.
