About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Horrible staff
Got there only 5 minutes late, male behind the Counter already mad before we even walk in, for unknown reason, I go to pay, I hand him my card and when he’s done with it he just throw in on the counter and doesn’t even look at me. Very unprofessional! And pretty much just rushing us! Other then the staff very nice course.

Useless Staff
First time playing the course, no one was outside to help us find a cart or the 1st Tee. Once on the course the pace of play was pushed terribly, as there were people on the green while my group was on the fairway, and people were tee’ing off behind us and coming within feet of our cart with balls. The Marshall then told us we were playing too slow at the turn, then subsequently on the 10th tee there was a man letting his dog defecate on the tee box, followed by an elderly man gathering balls in the middle of the hazard on the next hole. The greens were nice though.

Need to speed pace of play up
I love the course but when you go out there and you can’t play without stopping and waiting for a couple groups in front of you to play it doesn’t become fun anymore. My suggestion is that they put Marshalls on the course so they can Speed up the pace of play. I had to quit after nine holes because I couldn’t take it anymore.

Unbeatable Value
Played 4:00 tee time on a Saturday for $25 and the course was in great shape. Can’t really beat that.

Unfair for average player!
You can’t miss or else you lose balls. Hitting 5 and 6 irons off tees on long par 4s to avoid hitting in the ravines. Nasty ball marks littering the greens, which were so slow today I missed a 15’ putt 5’ short and I hit the snot out of it. If you like frustrating golf and losing 9 balls per round, Lake Arrowhead is your place. I’ll never play there again.

Best valuie in metro Atlanta. Course is tough but fair after you have played it a couple times. Condition was good. 1st timers I'd suggest playing with someone who has played there before. Quiet and peaceful and felt like we had the course to ourselves.

Overall, nice course. Many holes had tight landing areas or hazards. Greens and tee boxes were in great shape.
