About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Aerification Alert
Unfortunately greens were still effected by recent Aeration, however Great views , tight layout, fun and challenging as always!

..went to course but didnt play
My son 18 has been at college playing think he has gotten better and wanted hi mom to come with us to watch. de-thron daddy..
Unfortunately , the course does not allow ride alongs on weekends. But we went back to bridgemill and played there and they gave has mom a free dinner for coming out

An immaculate, challenging, and tranquil course at a reasonable price.
Simply a great course and at the right price. An envionement with live habitat, perfect greens and fairways, and quick play. Short but challenging. will play there again soon!

Fair Greens
Challenging course with fair greens. Although the greens were recently punched, they have recovered enough to be medium fast and fair and show little effect of the aeration. Scenery and vistas are spectacular. If you are looking for a mountain course to play, this is the one.

Greens punched
Greens just punched. Tee boxes rough, slow play and no drink cart

Good rate
Green good, course in fair to good condition. Great scenery, saw 24 deer, 9 turkeys,a rabbit, lot of squirrels, and a solid black bob cat near lake on way out. Never saw a black bobcat before and if it was quite rare I think could have been a cougar possibly.

Challenging Course
Lake Arrowhead is a target course with a bunch of forced carries. The fairways are starting to come in, but the toughest part was reading the greens, which were recently aerated (dime-sized holes with light sanding). They should be much better in a week or two of good weather. The scenery and high elevation views are worth the trip by themselves.

Management needs to step it up
We went and played on Good Friday and I know that is a busy day for courses so I would give a pass for normal slowness but this was on a whole other level. Our foursome breezed right through the first 2 holes. Then we hit a wall. From that point all the way through the first 9 we had to sit at each tee box for anywhere from 15-20 minutes. At one tee box, I could see 7 groups “playing” at the same time. Most of which were standing around waiting on someone in front to play. I understand greens have to be aerated too, but they had aerated with giant plug holes about 3/8-1/2” in diameter which completely ruined the greens. At the conclusion of the front 9, my group was done. It took us over 3 hours to play 9 holes. We never saw one single Marshall during our time out. When we got back to the clubhouse, we told the staff about our experience and asked if we could just get some balls to hit on the range. They refused, claiming the ball dispenser was locked, but that we could pay them cash personally and they would get us some….I was not about to pay for range balls after this. I asked to speak to a manager but conveniently everyone had gone home for the day, leaving 2 poor cart boys by themselves to run an entire course at 6:30 pm on a Friday evening of a holiday weekend. Very unprofessional for the management if you ask me. Hope to see them step it up all the way around in the future.
