Lake Arrowhead Yacht & Country Club - Highlands Course

This course is interesting and very challenging, on terrain that perhaps didn't offer the best template for a golf course. If you like forced carries and target golf, this could be your course, but this is not a layout for someone who just wants to rip it and go find it. Valleys, waste areas,, ponds, creeks and woods line or cross most holes. it makes for a visually attractive course, but not one that is really a lot of fun to play. Trying to play up a set of tees to manage the difficulty might not work either, as a number of holes demand a layup off the tee. The Par 3 holes are all fun, but 3 of the 4 Par 5's are not well designed. Many holes feature uphill approaches where shots on or just short of the green can get swatted away back down the hill. Nice driving range and clubhouse.

I imagine this course might be more of an acquired taste, to say the least.

Restaurant has a 87b health department rating and staff was very inattentive. We shouldn’t have to wait 10-30 minutes to be served by staff that looked dead at us upon arrival. Epic fail!

A wonderful day of golf at Lake Arrowhead - such a pretty course and unlike anything else around Atlanta. Conditions were challenging with some breeze on a few holes but otherwise a perfect day. Great practice tee/green. One of my favorite places to play.

Nice course, nice staff. Slow play.. 5 hours to complete.

Fairways are way too hilly and makes for unfavorable play. Did not enjoy this course at all. Old course was much better.

While this may be one of the most challenging courses to play under ideal conditions, under the current course conditions it becomes unruly. Finding any grass to hit off in the fairways and around the greens made the lies even tighter that normal. With all the rain that we have been getting their several areas on the course had what only be described as waves of grass lines in the fairways which created another challenge in getting a flat lie. Several of the tee boxes were missing grass as well or had recently been seeded. The greens were extremely slow.

I remembered how much I enjoyed playing this course in the past but until the greens keeper can spend some much needed time on this course I would not recommend spending your money on this course.

It was cart path only due to rain and course played very long. Would love to play again in dry conditions.

I've played this course a few times now and loved it every time. The mountain scenery and landscape is gorgeous. It has some challenging and unique holes which I think is what makes this course great. The friendly staff are top notch and you won't find a better course for the money. Fairway/green conditions are usually pretty good, especially during the non winter months. I would highly reccomend

Located in a private community in the north Georgia mountains. Stunning views, nice course and friendly staff. This is NOT a walking course! Lots of hills.

I've been playing Arrowhead for 4-5 years. The course is always great value for what you get.

Only tbing to note is that they could use some new golf carts by this point. They were out of carts when we arrived, so we had to wait for one (which I've never had happen when playing here). When we did get two carts they weren't in the best shape. Lovely course and staff though!

Beautiful setting but a tough course to play. Price is right and don’t seem to be rushed.

First time playing LAH. Great course for the money, Course layout very tough and have to pick the right club and shot. I would love to give a 5 star review, but was a little dispointed that there was a beverage cart on the course the weather was great and high 60's so didn't make sense. Also the bar in the clubhouse seemed out of sorts when we made the turn. They didn't seem to know what they had and were running around. Over all great course and great price for a Friday. Will be back.

This course has a very picturesque layout as it meanders through the rolling hills of North Georgia. Game play was steady with the holes being laid out in a manor to keep game play moving while providing a challenge for all levels of golfer. The greens were soft the day I played and lent to a very precise landing if attacked with a high approach. I would recommend the course and will certainly be back to play

This was the first time playing great challenging course and worth the price for a Friday. I would give 5 star but was a little disappointed with the bar/kitchen they didn't seemed prepared and what to offer. Also didn't understand why there wasn't a Bev cart on the course on a beautiful day. Besides that good day
