About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Aeration
They aerated & I didn’t know until I got there. Also I had to play the front 9 twice. Would have been nice if someone let me know before I booked the time.

Etiquette optional
The course is great. Interesting holes that make good use of the topography. Tees, fairways, and greens in very good condition. Price is fair and the staff have always been nice to me.
Only issue I'd mention is slow groups, possibly members, who back the place up. The marshals are good but perhaps too forgiving. Took 35 minutes to play 8&9 because of the group in front of me. Didn't acknowledge me, no offer to play through, they just kept flaring and fatting shots. Seemed oblivious. Not the first time this has happened but is surely the most frustrating. I rate it highly because the course is excellent, in great shape, and the people are nice, but slow play makes it frustrating.

Great course and staff
This is my favorite course play in my area. The staff is friendly and the course is in good condition with a fabulous view all around. However i wish there was a Marshall on the course that would alert slow golfers to speed up their pace of play when they are slowing down other groups behind them or at least let a faster group play through. This is common at most courses anyways.

Awesome course!
This was a very challenging course, but fun to play. You even run into wildlife occasionally. Although it rained about halfway, I highly recommend this course.

Fairways had more than a few clumps of weeds/crabgrass but overall good condition ! Will def be back again !

Not the first time but maybe the last
No worries golf etiquette anywhere and that’s saying a lot for Georgia where golf etiquette has been dead for years. Love to be 80 yards from the group in front of you and them pretend you don’t exist. If you want to play at a snails pace come on down
