About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Lake Arrowhead
Very interesting design. Lots of elevation changes. Staff is top notch.

Beautiful Setting for Golf
The course needs some attention from a maintenance perspective. Greens and fairways in good shape. Many large ruts and hole entering the course from the cart path.
Pace of play was as bad as I’ve experienced in some time. Our round took about 5 hours and 10 minutes which is unacceptable. Very little marshaling. People should be put on notice when they play that slow as it impacts the entire course and al players.
The potential for this course is so high if managed a bit better. Nice people working there.

Challenging golf course
I’m a 7 handicap and as a South Floridian we play.very flat golf courses. This was a treat ! Greens were very fast ! Great condition! A test with every club in my bag being used!

Spectacular
This course is a GEM! Paid $24 bucks and it was worth EVERY penny. Great layout but difficult. I can't wait to come back.

Awesome and challenging course
Best public course near Atlanta. Played with other 3 pleasant players. The course was awesome. Well-maintained, fast green, challenging layout. Every hole is different. Lots of undulations on fairway and green. Hard to make birdie. Par is a good score here. I will definitely come back soon even though I have to drive curvy and zigzag ways.

Excellent condition
Beautiful sunny breezy 65 degree day just north of Atlanta. The course is in excellent shape. Greens are quick. Teed off at 230pm only saw 2 groups all day. Got in 18 holes in 3 hours. Staff always great...Eddie in the pro shop is a super nice guy. Prices have gone up but it's worth it. Highly recommend.

Weekday Round
Played a hot deal round mid-week, greens are in fabulous conditions. This course is a hull to get to from where I live(1hour) but worth the drive. The staff is super nice and the clubhouse has everything you need. Can’t wait till all the leafs change color in a few weeks!

Enjoyable and challenging
The course played very well but challenging and was in good condition. Many blind shots make it tough playing the course for the first time, prior course knowledge would be a benefit.
The setting is very peaceful and scenic. Worth the drive to play.
