About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Great North Georgia Course
Truly enjoy playing Arrowhead. One of the most scenic courses I’ve played. Hole no 5 is near impossible for a short ball hitting senior like me to par, but I enjoy the challenge. The staff in the clubhouse and grill are great. The menu and food are fantastic after the round. Overall a near perfect golfing experience!

Lake Arrowhead is on point
Overall, this course offers a solid layout with good conditions at a very fair price. While the opening hole is hardly the “firm handshake “ that you would want from an architectural standpoint, there are several other holes that present well and offer fair challenges.

Hidden Gem!
Lake Arrowhead is a Northwest Georgia hidden gem. Very challenging, but scenic mountain course that is in beautiful condition and a tremendous value.
Hit my first lifetime hole in one today on 17 to top off a beautiful day.
I drive 50 minutes from Dallas, Ga to play this course regularly.

Hilly but fair
Very hilly course but fair, condition was great. Used most of the clubs in my bag.

Nice course with caveats
I've played this course numerous times and enjoy it. However there are some potential negatives to watch out for.
Slow greens. I only remember the greens being decent speeds the first few times I played here. They've been on the slow side ever since (imo),
Several bizarre holes on the front nine. The 2 par 5's on the front (holes 1 and 5) are poorly designed and basically unreachable in 2. That and the multiple forced carries make them not much fun to play.
Inconsistent conditioning. The tee boxes are a mixed bag (they are replacing several to their credit). The fairways are solid but the edges/rough tend to be mown down or excessively worn.
In spite of these it's a worthy golf course for a cheap price. It is a very difficult course to score on if you don't know the layout of each hole and aren't striping the ball. But the views are AMAZING.
