About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Great Value and Challenging Course
First the staff at Lake Arrowhead and very friendly and helpful. The Course layout is great and hole 5 is a big challenge! There was Aeration going on the day we played but it was communicated before our booking so we were ok with it.
Target mountain golf
Great target golf layout. Aerated greens in rough shape. Would wait 2 months before playing again. Quick front nine and brutally slow back nine. Not sure id be the drive again (hour away from home).

Great Course
Excellent mountain course without the straight uphill fairways, but plenty of downhill holes .Tee boxes in great condition, fairways plenty of grass, greens were just punched. Beautiful views. Didn't think golf cart was going to make it on a few holes. Bring a range finder. Nice clubhouse, all staff were very friendly.

Lake Arrowhead
The staff is very helpful, and user friendly. Especially Julie in the clubhouse, and Rick on the course along with the first starter. I did not get his name. World class customer service from all of them.
The back nine was closed due to aeration, and the front nine had a lot of sand on the greens. So tough to rate the course. Tee to green the course was in good shape.
It was a beautiful day and the course is in a beautiful setting. Deer everywhere.

Snack bar poorly managed.
The snack bar appeared to be poorly managed. Service slow, did not have any hot dogs left, and some common beer brands were not available.

Disappointing
While there was much to dislike about this course, I will say the staff was extremely nice and attentive. The greens were in good shape, very large, fast and undulating. However; the layout was at times confusing, and the distance between holes is at times very long. The fairways were hard as rock and the tee boxes were very poor at best. Fortunately, the greens fees were very reasonable.

Challenging course
This course was great fun for our group. It is a very challenging course though with a number of holes requiring lay ups for most. Lower rating for condition due to early spring conditions. Some tee boxes had no grass. Also there was no cart service (covid?) Overall though it was a great experience and staff was friendly and helpful.

Will not go back
Got turned around 3 times due to lack of signs.
Pace of play should have been maintained by the Marshall’s better. No beverage court in a busy sunny afternoon.
Did see pretty views and wildlife though
