Lake Arrowhead Yacht & Country Club - Highlands Course

Lake Arrowhead is a Northwest Georgia hidden gem. Very challenging, but scenic mountain course that is in beautiful condition and a tremendous value.

Hit my first lifetime hole in one today on 17 to top off a beautiful day.

I drive 50 minutes from Dallas, Ga to play this course regularly.

Very hilly course but fair, condition was great. Used most of the clubs in my bag.

I've played this course numerous times and enjoy it. However there are some potential negatives to watch out for.

Slow greens. I only remember the greens being decent speeds the first few times I played here. They've been on the slow side ever since (imo),

Several bizarre holes on the front nine. The 2 par 5's on the front (holes 1 and 5) are poorly designed and basically unreachable in 2. That and the multiple forced carries make them not much fun to play.

Inconsistent conditioning. The tee boxes are a mixed bag (they are replacing several to their credit). The fairways are solid but the edges/rough tend to be mown down or excessively worn.

In spite of these it's a worthy golf course for a cheap price. It is a very difficult course to score on if you don't know the layout of each hole and aren't striping the ball. But the views are AMAZING.

Very challenging course. Bring your A game. Well worth the value

I was surprised to find the course at the rear of a very hilly private access housing development about a 15 mile (25 minute) drive west out of Canton Georgia. It sits in a very beautiful setting, and I imagine it was quite a challenge to lay out and build the course on the available terrain (it certainly "shows" it the "flow" of how each individual hole was shaped and positioned - and a good many times on the back 9 necessitated a lengthy cart ride from a green to the next tee).

At altitude and given sloping (sometimes nearly reaching the "severe" category) that had (and likely keeps) the course in a dry firm condition, the run out of shots was welcome and reminiscent of similar experiences on courses out west. Of annoyance was the shoddy mowing work around the greens and the slowness of the speed on them.

The front side "shines" despite the numerous weeds one notices in the bunkers and the replacement needs on sections of the cart paths. If it weren't for being forced to go with less than driver on the first three par 5s, I'd be clamoring to revisit the place when next in the area.

What a fantastic and challenging course. The drive through the neighborhood to the course took 15 minutes but I was not at all disappointed when I got to the first tee. Right off the bat, you know know you're in for a round that's going to make you work. I loved every bit of it!

Awesome! I have played this course for the there’d time and it’s always challenging. Fast greens, tee boxes in good shape, excellent fairways. Can’t wait to play it again.

Don’t spend time at this course. Good views but very poor conditions. No even teeboxes, no fairways just weeds.

I’ve played Lake arrowhead golf course several times. For the dollar it’s truly worth it. Very challenging course and the fairways and greens this last week were perfect. You can’t ask for a better course for $35. I recommend this course highly I will probably be back this next week.

Arrowhead was a fun course to play ... if you could find where to go! The course is severely lacking signage and therefore you’re left roaming around looking for the next hole.

Also, the pace of play is TERRIBLE! The Marshall at #1 said “you have a fivesome in front of you which I don’t normally allow, but I know the guy in the orange and he’s good so I’ll let it slide.” It took 4 hours and 40 minutes to play 18. And the guy in the orange, was terrible!

It’s affordable, but go somewhere else. Unless you’ve got 5 hours to play 18. Then, this is your place!

Good course conditiion overall, greens very good. Too difficult for me . Multiple holes for not big hitters require 1 and sometimes 2 layups so if not consistent hitter that knows his distances can mean trouble Thought it was a nicely designed couuse wiih some interesting holes with lots of dog-legs and was a pretty mountain course

My main negative here was it was an adventure a few times finding the next hole, they could use rmore/better signage. Also strange at a course thiis nice didnt see ball washers. Starter there is always very nice and helpful. Wish i was a better golfer so i could make this fine , challenging course home' but too difficult for me on a regular basis' --one of the better GN values for sure

Not sure who has the worst golf etiquette the member taking 10 or 12 shots on a hole not letting anyone play through or the grounds crew Constantly driving up on you in the middle of your shot. It is unfortunate because it’s a nice course with a nice layout and really nice staff
