About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

A little crowded
Course was in very good shape. Got to be precise or it will cost you. Front 9 tee boxes better than back 9. No cart service but the restaurant in the clubhouse had very tasty food. Worst part of the day was pace of play, very slow and no Marshall to help move things along.

Worth the effort
We played in winter conditions so it is hard to say about course conditions but the greens were in good shape and putted well. Can be a tough layout. There are a handful of blind shots off the tee. I have played here before and list balls that went right down the middle. I would advise getting the yardage book from the pro shop to help you determine what to hit off of some of the tee shots.

Interesting layout with lots of elevation and a great price. Difficult.

Fox creek
Great little coarse. Play here very often. When the range is open(currently closed until Jan 1) the warmup area is solid. Plenty of option for drinks and snacks. Tee boxes and greens 9 times out of 10 are in great condition. Aesthetically lacks a bit but for 35 bucks you get a solid round of golf
