Lake Arrowhead Yacht & Country Club - Highlands Course

This is a challenging layout and was in great shape. The staff are always helpful and down to earth.

Absolutely beautiful course!! Greens are in phenomenal shape, rolling very well. Tee boxes and greens look great.

Fun course nestled in the mountains of North GA. Course is in good shape for the most part. Course is very challenging when the wind is blowing. There are many blinds tee shots both uphill and downhill. The bentrass greens were running a little slow but were decent condition other than a few bad areas of greens here and there. Overall, a pretty, challenging and fun course.

As the course is nestled in the mountains, there are tons of up and down hills and elevation changes. The elevation changes adds to the challenge and beauty of the golf course. There is beautiful scenery everywhere, especially from the top points of the golf course along with majestic views and tons of awesome wildlife (deer, fawns, turkeys, hawks, etc.)

The cart we had, as well as the other cart in our group had very little power and could barely make it up the hills and going down the hills we had to be super careful as the brakes were worn out and we felt a little bit scared if the cart would stop on many of the steep downhill paths. The bunkers were in very bad condition with many having little to no sand and those that had sand had not been worked or raked in what appeared like a few weeks. No ball washing stations at all, so bring your own wet towel. Many of the fairways were VERY firm and in many spots very little grass so in lots of instances you were hitting off of hard packed dirt with very little grass.

Pace of play was great and four times during the round we saw a marshall/ranger driving around checking up on everyone and making sure everything was good. It is great to see a marshall out on the course helping keep the pace of play where it should be. Great job Lake Arrowhead!!!

Course is in good shape for the most part. It is very challenging from the tips. There are a lot of blinds tee shots, so playing it for the first time can be a struggle. Greens were slow but were well kept other than a couple spots here and there. Overall, a good course and will make the trip back soon.

Beautiful course nestled in the mountains of North GA. There are many holes with water hazards and landing spots so accuracy is a must! No ball washing stations so.bring some cleaning solution. Will return to play again!

Good, challenging layout. Course condition was good. Staff was excellent. Clubhouse grill has an outstanding burger.

Always a pleasure to play here. Course is in amazing shape right now. Only one green had a few issues, otherwise fairways and greens were in amazing condition. Carts could use a little more juice but that is a minor gripe. Beautiful scenery and all kinds of wildlife.

Tough course in great shape couple greens on back 9 but sketchy other than that good day. Staff always terrific !

For only $35-45 during prime-time, you can’t find a better place to play golf. The course is in good shape, and is a different, but challenging layout. Greens are really big, and most are 2-3 tiered, so you have to hit good iron shots. Par 3s are fun here. Bentgrass greens that were a little on the slow end, but still true and rolled smooth. Would definitely go back... it’s just a hike from Metro Atlanta.

Other than a little work to be done on traps and a few tee boxes course was great! Greens overall in good shape. Love the layout and that forces you to think about what clubs to use when teeing off and second shots. It always helps when pace of play is good, and it was. As well staff driving through and checking. Looking forward to making it my home course.

Lake Arrowhead has nice scenery and is generally a nice golf course. The course has continuous elevation changes and some forced carries. The fairways are reasonably generous, but not resort course width. Most of the greens are quite large. High handicap golfers may find the course too challenging.

The course is well kept, but not anything close to manicured. There are better maintained courses of similar elevation, scenery , and price in North Georgia that are better maintained.

Beautiful golf course in eye popping natural landscape. Well maintained but a little too cute with the design/layout. Could only hit driver twice playing from 2nd to last tee boxes (one up from tips ). Most holes have something running through fairway (waste area) or just lines that are too aggressive if you drive 280-300ish. Other than that, the course is super scenic.

This course is pretty challenging (at least for average golfers like me (handicap 17). It is well taken care of and the views are stunning.

Now for some issues:

- a few of the tee boxes were super hard and some had little grass on them

- my cart had tires that had almost no thread left, so in steep descents, it was hard to control - the tires would just slide when I pressed the brakes, like when drifting. A little dangerous especially in a hilly course like this

- the staff at the bar took about 15 minutes to fill our order (which was super simple - 3 rum and cokes, 4 beers and a couple bags of chips). With 4 people behind the counter, no less...

- the beer cart came and we were all happy - except when the guy said it was cash only. Not one of us had cash so no beer, and no profit for them. It wouldn't cost to just get our credit cards that we would then pick up from the bar at the end of the round, like so many courses do. Or, have you heard of Square? It's 2020 people... Who carries cash???
