About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Thanks to the staff
Inexplicably my reservation through. Golfnow wasn’t showing in their system. Fortunately, we arrived early and they we able to accommodate us with an earlier tee time. Course and staff were great as usual seems there too s a disconnect between the course and golf now app.

Pace pf play nightmare
We played on Sunday at 11:20 AM. After at 2:20 min front nine, we waited nearly 18 min to tee off on number 10. Then a ranger came out and accosted my group telling us we were playing too slow. This after we waited on every single shot for 9 holes. I will not be back. Beautiful area but I don’t need some jerk yelling at us to play faster when the slow foursome was several groups ahead. We did finish the back nine a bit faster but the pace of play overall was quite painful.
Great time to play
Course is in great condition. Beautiful Mountain View’s. Challenging but fun course. Great food in snack bar.

Great views and value
Was able to get out for a really early round,, and the groundskeepers weren’t quite done with their work yet. That’s on me, not the course. Elevation changes made for some really challenging shots and decisions, even from the forward tees I was using.

Hardest Course I've ever played
I like the course but it's mountainous and challenging. I'm a woman and play off the whites. I've played golf all over the world and this is by far the most frustrating and challenging course I've ever played. I'm certainly going to play it again. a word of advice. bring many balls. the course seems to eat them. I played right up the middle of the fairway and still couldn't find my ball. i lost about 6 and i HATE to lose golf balls.

Unfortunately for some reason the pace slowed down after the 3rd hole. It took 45 minutes to get through 2 holes. I will be back but the slow pace made me quit after 13 hole.....

Excellent course with many holes requiring discipline to hit good landing zones as you approach the greens.

Toughest Golf Course In GA
I’ve played over 60 different courses in GA and would rank it as No.1 most challenging & difficult course to play due to its elevational and slope change. Beside, each of the hole has its own hazard challenges and most of the greens are undulating.

Understandable that courses won’t always redo there pin positions each day, but this was ridiculous.
Pins didn’t look like they’d been moved in 4-5day and it was almost impossible to make a putt unless it was center cut. Not mentioning all the burnout (dead spots) your have to putt through. NEEDS WORK

practice round
I used this round strictly as a practice round because I played the back nine by myself and there weren't many on the course. It was also difficult to putt since they had recently aerated the greens and it was very rough so you really couldn't make a true putt.
