About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Great Course!
Fantastic course with beautiful views of the north Georgia mountains.
Nice mountain course and very challenging home. Greens and fairways were in very good shape. It was raining today when we played but fairways and green was not holding water, drainage was great.

Hidden Gem now uncovered
I live in the Lake Arrowhead community, but you get no discount for living inside the resort. The past few years you could book a round at GolfNow for as cheap as $16 (including cart). In those days I could play on a Monday- Friday, hit 18 holes in about 2.5 hours. All these discounted tee times made it difficult for the course to afford proper maintenance. Some people thought that Lake Arrowhead was too far of a drive, so never came and played.
This year with Covid-19 golf courses became one of the only activities people could go out and do. The course began to get busy by the first of April and tee times actually sold out most days.
The course currently is in great shape for the most part. There are two or three greens that are having real issues, but the greens keepers are doing their best to fix the problems. The fairways are now filled in nicely. Tee boxes are the one thing that could be improved on dramatically. The course is extremely challenging, not a grip and rip type course. You have to be able to place your ball in the correct place on the fairway to have a next shot. Water hazards on almost every hole.
Overall I would give this course a 8.5/10 for condition and value.

Lake Arrowhead Country Club Waleska Ga
My wife and I love this course. It has some serious and interesting challenges. When we play we try to beat our previous score (some times yes, some times no) We are intermediate golfers and the course plays well. We noticed for the first time today that the course greens are not being maintained up to par. Lots of dirt and we think fungus on the greens. The fairways also are quite hard and more difficult to play. We still love the course and the challenges it offers.

Incredible Vistas
Absolutely love the course layout, difficulty/fairness level and incredible vistas. You are just wrapped in the most beautiful mountains!!! Even if my game is off, I’m positively distracted by the beautiful views.

Great course to play . The layout was awesome although it was frequented quite often by non players—Deers! The greens were recently aerated and I Wish we would have been made aware of that prior to playing . Other than. That I enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning!

Like this course
Played here around 10 years ago so it was time for another visit! Better then we remembered it, generally in good condition, fairways good to hit from and greens fast and true. Good to sit outside afterwards with a beer overlooking the 18th. One criticism - the crazy 5th hole. This absurd hole spoils a good course.

Missing beverage cart
Took 4 hrs and 50 min to play on a 90+ degree day 3.5hrs of that we never saw the beverage cart, no water on the course to drink due to covid.
We apologize for the inconvenience. We are trying out best to limit touch on our course. Please feel free to bring as much water as you want to keep yourself hydrated.

Great course for the money
Hidden gem in N Georgia. Beautiful course, nice mountain setting. Not usually crazy busy during the week. Greens roll perfect. Challenging layout, with enough tee boxes for any handicap. Wish I lived closer to this course.
