Lake Arrowhead Yacht & Country Club - Highlands Course

Good, challenging layout. Course condition was good. Staff was excellent. Clubhouse grill has an outstanding burger.

Always a pleasure to play here. Course is in amazing shape right now. Only one green had a few issues, otherwise fairways and greens were in amazing condition. Carts could use a little more juice but that is a minor gripe. Beautiful scenery and all kinds of wildlife.

Tough course in great shape couple greens on back 9 but sketchy other than that good day. Staff always terrific !

For only $35-45 during prime-time, you can’t find a better place to play golf. The course is in good shape, and is a different, but challenging layout. Greens are really big, and most are 2-3 tiered, so you have to hit good iron shots. Par 3s are fun here. Bentgrass greens that were a little on the slow end, but still true and rolled smooth. Would definitely go back... it’s just a hike from Metro Atlanta.

Other than a little work to be done on traps and a few tee boxes course was great! Greens overall in good shape. Love the layout and that forces you to think about what clubs to use when teeing off and second shots. It always helps when pace of play is good, and it was. As well staff driving through and checking. Looking forward to making it my home course.

Lake Arrowhead has nice scenery and is generally a nice golf course. The course has continuous elevation changes and some forced carries. The fairways are reasonably generous, but not resort course width. Most of the greens are quite large. High handicap golfers may find the course too challenging.

The course is well kept, but not anything close to manicured. There are better maintained courses of similar elevation, scenery , and price in North Georgia that are better maintained.

Beautiful golf course in eye popping natural landscape. Well maintained but a little too cute with the design/layout. Could only hit driver twice playing from 2nd to last tee boxes (one up from tips ). Most holes have something running through fairway (waste area) or just lines that are too aggressive if you drive 280-300ish. Other than that, the course is super scenic.

This course is pretty challenging (at least for average golfers like me (handicap 17). It is well taken care of and the views are stunning.

Now for some issues:

- a few of the tee boxes were super hard and some had little grass on them

- my cart had tires that had almost no thread left, so in steep descents, it was hard to control - the tires would just slide when I pressed the brakes, like when drifting. A little dangerous especially in a hilly course like this

- the staff at the bar took about 15 minutes to fill our order (which was super simple - 3 rum and cokes, 4 beers and a couple bags of chips). With 4 people behind the counter, no less...

- the beer cart came and we were all happy - except when the guy said it was cash only. Not one of us had cash so no beer, and no profit for them. It wouldn't cost to just get our credit cards that we would then pick up from the bar at the end of the round, like so many courses do. Or, have you heard of Square? It's 2020 people... Who carries cash???

The course was in the best condition I've ever seen. Greens were very slow but true.

Pace of play was extremely slow and did not see a ranger for the entire 18 holes.

The views and elevation changes are amazing. On many holes the views of the surrounding mountains are beautiful. The course was in fantastic condition. The course is quite a test for your game. The location is quite remote, but that adds to the experience. I saw at least 10 deer, 3 snakes and tons of birds. I had a great time today. If it is your first time playing the course, I HIGHLY recommend playing with someone who has played the course before because on the front nine, there are several holes which you do NOT want to hit driver as you will hit through the fairway (#1, #3, #5, #8, #9).

The course has a very challenging layout with tons of elevation changes. The course is well maintained and in great shape. The greens today were rolling quick, smooth and fun. I live over an hour away from this course and feel it is well worth the drive to play here. I will be back to play again.

We are two people playing in two golf carts. The foursome in front of us played extremely slow and wouldn’t let us pass, (poor sportsmanship) and I’m positive these guys picked up my ball on hole 14!!!!!!

Shame on you!!!!

Overall great course. Very challenging at times which is always fun. Off the beaten path and I like that.

Really enjoyed this beautiful and challenging course. It is a good ways from the city but I really enjoyed the layout and the condition of the course. Will definitely come back and play there again soon.

Have played here quite a few times thru the last 10 years or so. Best value in north Georgia in my estimation. I’m a 23 handicap so I find it stretches my abilities with some long forced carries on a few holes. But great layout (except for 14) usually in nice conditions, greens nice. Flora and fauna an extra treat in North Georgia. I will keep coming to this friendly place until I can get it right.

Lake Arrowhead golf course has a very challenging layout, tons of elevation change and is just pure fun to play. The course is well maintained and in great shape. I live over an hour and a half from this course and feel it is well worth the drive to play here. I have already sent a friend to play this course and can't wait to come back out myself.

Played this course for the 1st time in a foursome that were all 1st timers. Quite a few odd holes on this course, and the premium on this track is to know where not to hit it. Even some shots that are struck well may run out into trouble. With that being said, I'll play it again and should be more comfortable the next time. Course conditions overall were good, the driving range is very nice, and the staff was friendly. Greens had been aerated a few weeks back and are close to being very nice.
