Lake Arrowhead Yacht & Country Club - Highlands Course

Beautiful views , large course layout , some greens need some work but overall great course , and great staff

We loved the course. Not too busy so we could play at a leisurely pace. Well maintained with the exception of the back nine greens which looked like they were undergoing some maintenance.

We'll be back to play it again. Generally challenging but not frustratingly so.

First time here and only 45 minutes away so wish I had discovered this place sooner. Played during greens aerification so they were not mowed and slow. Hot dry weather recently showed on most of these bent grass greens but I do plan to return in cooler weather to see what they are like then. Great scenery and views everywhere. Fairways and tees in good condition. Only disappointment was the condition of the bunkers but they may have had heavy rain the day before so I’ll give them a pass, especially since I managed to avoid all of them. Wish there were more water coolers, especially in 90 degree plus weather like we had today. Super friendly staff and nice clubhouse with dining that I did not try.

The course is somewhat challenging. It will bait you into trying to go long instead of playing smart. Overall a great course, bring lots of balls, you can loose them in the rough off the fairway since the grass hides the ball. And if you try and go long odds are you wont find your ball. I will definitely come back when it is not 95 degree's.

Had to play back nine twice as they were aerating the front nine. Greens in rough shape.

This is a tough course so bring your A game. We played fast on first 9 but it was backed up on the back. The course was in good shape and greens on front was nice while the back 9 greens have some bad spots. Overall was an enjoyable day and food at clubhouse was just what we was looking for after the round

Gorgeous mountain golf course!!! Most towels are very challenging and have picturesque views in every direction. We saw lots of wildlife and had a wonderful day!

This is a challenging course due to the hilly conditions and tight layout. My advice is to play it with patience and be conservative. If you try to attack the course it is likely to penalize you. Hole #5 is ridiculously hard. It's essential that you keep your ball in the fairway off the tee and then be as close to the hazard as you can. If not, you'll wind up in the weeds. The elevation to the split fairway is what makes it so challenging. If you do hit it in the hazard there is a drop zone on the other side. Don't waste your time, just go to the drop zone and play from there. Overall, the course is fun as it is challenging. The greens and tee boxes are good on the front 9, but the back side is showing some stress. Overall, it's a good play for the money. Great staff and nice club house.

I play here all the time and there’s always something aloof. Now don’t get me wrong, I love this place. It has an amazing layout and it’s in a lot of wilderness. However, if you as a course is going to host a tournament on tee boxes that are 90% sand, and greens that have zero fringe with gaping areas where aeration was ineffective, then maybe you should reconsider how this is being managed. I refuse to play a course where I cannot putt accurately because of the lack of maintenance. Even the little things were not maintained. Trash cans overflowing, water coolers empty, ball washers bone dry...I mean, come on. In addition to the course layout, there is very little distances marked anywhere, but the 150 stick. I ended up driving around the fairway looking for sprinkler heads and figuring it out from there. Amazing potential, and poor execution keeps this course at the bottom of the list on a consistent basis.

As always, great place to play at a great value. Surrounded by nature, awesome views and elevation changes. The course is fair but tough. #5 par 5 is one of the hardest holes I’ve played. Relax afterwards on the porch of the clubhouse over looking the #18 green. It’s a favorite when you want to get out of the city.

perfect day out . Maybe I could have played a little better.

This was my first time on a course in 5 years and the first time for a friend. The front 9 offers nearly every challenge a seasoned golfer could hope to play. For the first timer it was very challenging and provided us with several WOW moments. Before we completed our play we were already comparing calendars to schedule our next play on this course. The staff in the Pro Shop and the Marshal are not only friendly but go out of their way to encourage and wish the players the best day ever. Bathroom facilities on the course are very clean and comfortable with running water and power. Drinking water was available on every hole. The club house restaurant is a fantastic place to cool down and rehydrate and the staff are equally friendly and proved the best in service.

The front nine is a real challenge, the back opens up for more wood and driver use. Great course in a interesting location.
