About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

If I could only play one course again, I wouldn’t mind it being this one
This course had everything my buddies and I were looking for. Challenging, but not impossible setup.
Great value for 18 holes.
Incredibly friendly staff that made us want to come back and play.
I would recommend this course to anyone I know from the avid golfer to someone who may just be getting started.

Really like to play here, been playiung here about 10 years.
Best kept secret in North Georgia. Beautiful layout , flora and fauna. Some forced carries on about 3 holes may be a problem for seniors or higher handicappers. (I am both). But otherwise a very nice day of golf.

Extremely challenging , excellent golf outing
Following two of the rainiest months in Georgia history this course was still in excellent condition. The greens were nearly blemish free and every approach shot was an absolute elevation challenge. Even though I am a member of another area club, I will definitely return to Lake Arrowhead Yacht & Country Club as soon as the spring grass turns completely green and the trees bloom, because the mountain views from most every fairway is spectacular.

Strategy is key
Absolutely fabulous course with some very quirky holes, definitely a course for someone who knows their distances. Laying up is key here.
Larry the starter and ranger is an awesome guy, very friendly and knowledgeable about the course .

i love this course it was great and also because it plays 90 degrees when everyone else is cart path only and that means alot to the old and fat so thank you twice from me

Mountain Golf
Beautiful layout amid the foothills of the mountains. Wide fairways for a mountain course. Good greens. The only disappointment is that there are no holes along Lake Arrowhead as the name implies. The original layout along the lake was more scenic.
