About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Good value overall; challenging course layout!
All things considered the course was in good shape. The bent grass greens take a beating late July through September because of the heat.
The course routing is a bit quirky on a few holes due to the topography of the site, but the course has some really nice holes and is fun to play. It is a challenging course, and a good value.
These golfers who say this course is in terrible condition are crazy!
Just like every single other course on this planet it has a few issues. For all the unforgiving people who constantly rag on courses, are hot deals and act like they have a 1 handicap, please get more reasonable expectations. But for a more realistic review, this course is in good condition, greens roll good, few minor imperfections, but overall good, now given this time of the year the fairways and rough are dormant as well as some tee boxes. Staff is kind and lunch in the clubhouse was great. Overall great experience! I will 110% be back!

This corse is challenging.

Greens are horrible!!!
First time playing the course and was very disappointed by the greens. Some had so many sand areas and bumpy was not worth playing. They have just aerated the back nine (holes still visible) but no one mentioned it to us when booking. Won’t be back at earliest late spring....

Greens are horrible!
Many of the greens were horrible and they just aerated the back nine, holes still visible so bumpy as well. Will not be back till late spring....

Disappointed
The last time I played this course was many years ago.
I loved the lakeside holes and the one that had a huge elevation change.
None of these exist anymore.
I was looking at property at lake arrowhead but not now.

Golfing at Arrowhead
The fairways were very wet from the rain last night so Cart Path only, made for a long day of golf. On top of that the wind was blowing hard enough to make the ball move. But as usual, we had a good day being on a golf course with friends.

Challenging and fun
This is a mountain course and lots of uphill, downhill, sidehill lies. Bring lots of golf balls to play here. It is a difficult course but very enjoyable to play. The staff in the pro shop is very friendly and the pros give excellent lessons.

Hidden gem
This place is great! Especially during the fall with all the colors on the mountains. Definitely not an easy one for sure. Lot of holes you had to play smart placement golf. I believe I only used driver 6 times. Greens very sticky for shot placement. I would highly recommend for a weekend getaway as well.

Great Round
Place is beautiful. Course was in great shape. Lots of on deer and wild turkeys. Nice driving range and practice green. We played with someone who gave us hole by hole review for placement. It's a very challenging course. Yes, I'm going back next week.

One of my Favorites
Second round at Lake Arrowhead and honestly can’t think of a better value. Staff is warm and welcoming. Layout is incredibly challenging and course conditions were great.

Fall in the foothills
With the sweetwater ipa’s flowing, the turkeys in the fairways, and deer tracks in the bunkers, what a great Monday on the coarse. It was very quiet, only my music playing and my beer cans crunching, were the only sounds to be heard. Pars and birdies were few and far between, but who cares. I was alive and thriving. Peace

Very bad sand trap conditions
I admit the views of the course are good, but the greens and bunkers were well below par. Shocking considering that we've had zero ran for bunkers to look this bad.
