About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Just ok
Nice course for the money. But it’s your typical club with members that feel entitled to their slow pace of play and poor etiquette. They need Marshall’s to enforce it. Otherwise your looking at a dreadful five hour round. I don’t plan on ever going back. Nice scenery though.

Perfect spring day
80 degrees and sunny today in the mountains. Pretty full on the course today but pace of play was fine. Rangers came by 3-4 times to check in. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Course in good shape.

Goat Farm
Clearly aren’t watering the course as fairways already burned out, if you can even call them fairways. More like weedways. Do you treat for weeds? Good luck trying to find a patch of grass that isn’t a weed. Terrible shape. Greens still have aerification holes as well. Not worth the drive and not even worth $25 a round.

Cancelled our reservation
Not sure if this was an issue with Golfnow or the course but our reservation was cancelled 40 min. prior to our tee time! After calling the course to see what was going on they didn’t offer to accommodate or do anything regarding the issue. Our friends had this issue the day before with them as well and didn’t get to play. After calling several other local courses that were completely booked as well, they said they would have tried to accommodate and work us in regardless of the issue. I had actually played on this course about 4 times this month only because they were available when others weren’t and now that this issue has come up I won’t be coming back.
Hello. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. It seems it was a tech system issue. When your tee time was booked through GolfNow, it never hit our tee sheet. When they called us to fill it in manually, time had already been booked in-house. We're very sorry again for this issue and we hope that you will reconsider and give us another try in the future!

Great time today. Played here a couple times and enjoyed every time. Today was great. Course was in great condition. Price was great. We booked a second tee time for 520 and when we were done it was 430 and there was 10 groups waiting for carts bc they ran out of carts due to giving groups single carts for the corona virus. Been playing a lot of other courses and have not had this issues. Just wish they would have planned better and rented more carts like other courses are doing during this time.

Wow
The elevation changes were amazing, the views of the surrounding mountains were beautiful! The course was in incredible shape, one of the top 5 prettiest places I’ve ever played golf. It was quite a test, and while I didn’t score well, I couldn’t help but thoroughly enjoy the round. There’s no off course amenities to speak of, as the course is fairly remote, but the on course food service is just fine. Will definitely be back, hopefully in the fall!

Great day
Enjoyed a great spring day at Arrowhead today. Course was in good shape and staff was helpful and friendly. I will comment that there are less food/drink options at all courses right now but most golfers understand the situation with Coronavirus activities. This course provides great value-$35 for 18 holes. We did not wait to hit any shot during the day and always enjoy seeing the deer on the course.

This is a mountain course with great views! It is a little challenging like all mountain courses, so you have to think a little about how you navigate this course.I love the course, I love the challenge.

Poor management
I am at extremely high risk for catching the coronavirus and need to use individual cart due to possible infection.
They refused to let me play without a second person in the cart which would greatly increase the risk of infection and from the first tee box I had to return the cart and leave.
This is a really unacceptable management decision!!!
