Crane's Landing at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort
About
Crane's Landing Golf Club is the centerpiece of Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. Designed by George Fazio, the course winds across 110 acres of preserved woodlands. It is a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary that offers stunning views of the Des Plaines River nearby. At just over 6,300 yards, the golf course is not particularly lengthy but it still offers some formidable challenges. Water is a prominent feature of the course with ponds and a winding river coming into play on 12 holes. The greens are small and raised and the sculpted fairways are tightly lined with mature trees, demanding accuracy off the tee. Crane's Landing Golf Club's back nine is especially difficult thanks to the river, which runs along the entire left side of the 13th hole and also appears on no. 17, the course's longest hole.

great course and staff
Staff treats everyone very nicely, course good condition, equal amount of water and sand
A ROUND OF GOLF AT cRANE'N lANDING
Very enjoyable, condition of course was good, pace was within the normal limits, staff very friendly & helpful, Inproving pace of play by removing a lot of the tall weeds adjacent to the fairways. Will play Crane's Landing again.
Relaxing play
Staff service is excellent, well maintained course and some challenging in course holes are worth revisiting.
19th hole food is limited, but reasonable.
Great course
Great course to play. Enjoyed the time and great services from a pleasant staff. Will be back to play again soon.
Nice course, close to home.
As a resident of Lincolnshire I find the Marriott Golf Course a local treasure. From the greeting at the bag drop to the cleaning of the clubs after a round this is a first class operation. Doug is always there with a smile at the pro shop. The grill is not extensive but really good food. My brother-in-law tried to make the chicken sandwich last the entire back nine. We played the blue tees and that makes the course quite challenging. Today I shot 92 with no snowmen but two sevens. The weather was cool for July which suited me just fine. After many days of rain I was pleasantly surprised at the splendid condition of the course. There were only three holes designated as "Cart path only". I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a business outing or an afternoon away from the office.
Crane's Landing on the south side
We need a course like this on the south side of Chicago. Excellent course and staff. Water is in play on just about every hole.
Convienent to Marriott Resort
Played Crane's Landing over the Fourth of July Weekend while staying at the Marriott Resort.. Course was in great shape. Greens were smooth and consistent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My wife golfed along with me, she is a beginning golfer but was very happy with the short tees which were fair but challenging to her and made her round enjoyable. Overall we had a fun and enjoyable round.
Cranes landing
Nice conditions , front nine much easier
Than back nine, some tough par 4's on the back nine. Still like the conditions of the
Course and will play it again.
May round at Crane's Landing
Very friendly, accommodating staff. The course was very, very wet in spite of the fact that we have not had remarkably wet weather in the last few days. Cart path only rules for carts probably slowed pace of play a bit, but we still finished just under 4:30. After a few weeks of very dry weather, I would consider playing this course again.
beautiful course
course was in great condition. bunkers were some of the most well maintained I've ever played in.
A decent resort course
The staff and the customer service was outstanding. The course is decent.
Tough Course - Don't choose the wrong tees
Based on the front-nine, you might choose to play from the tips. However, the back-nine is WAY longer. From the tips, the front is 2927 yards with only 2 par fours requiring a driver. The back measures 3363 with 3 par fours of 452, 420 & 448! Be aware.
course was in good shape & staff was very friendly
fairways and greens were in great shape, you need to keep your tee shot in the fairway otherwise you were likely to be hindered by trees on your next shot. fair course with numerous fairway bunkers & plenty of water.
Good course, great service
I always enjoy playing Crane's. They normally treat you like a cc, they typically have good pace, and the course is fun.
The course is narrow in some spots which I find challenging.
The course is well taken care of and I would reccomend it to anyone and I will return to play it again. I must note however that the forward T's are way to forward.
Nice Course
For the first time playing this course, I was impressed and surprised. Some positives include:
1. Free netted cages to take some practice and warm-up
2. Nice mixture of water and sand, but not too over-bearing
3. For being in a urban area, the course is quiet and is hidden from traffic and highways giving image being in forest.
One other tip I would provide is to use golf now. They have cheaper rates than if you stayed in their hotel.
Course is in good shape. Pace of play was good.
Considering the whole course was under water at the beginning of the season, it is in remarkable shape. There is a nice variety of hole layout. Tee times are far enough apart to allow for steady pace of play.
Good value and very tight
Minor complaint about staff: I arrived an hour early (no traffic from the city) for my tee time. The course -- at least the front 9 -- was completely deserted. However, the starter made me wait the full hour until my tee time arrived before letting me tee off. That was rather annoying and is certainly not the norm for other courses. Other than that, no complaints.
Nice course. Somewhat challenging. Greens need attention.
I like the layout of this course with water and other hazards awaiting a poor shot. Course is short, so check yardages of different tees to determine which is best for you. Staff is very attentive. The greens were torn up with ball marks that had not been repaired.
