Crane's Landing at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort
About
Crane's Landing Golf Club is the centerpiece of Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. Designed by George Fazio, the course winds across 110 acres of preserved woodlands. It is a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary that offers stunning views of the Des Plaines River nearby. At just over 6,300 yards, the golf course is not particularly lengthy but it still offers some formidable challenges. Water is a prominent feature of the course with ponds and a winding river coming into play on 12 holes. The greens are small and raised and the sculpted fairways are tightly lined with mature trees, demanding accuracy off the tee. Crane's Landing Golf Club's back nine is especially difficult thanks to the river, which runs along the entire left side of the 13th hole and also appears on no. 17, the course's longest hole.

the course is well groomed
the course is very well maintained, the greens are in good shape and the fairways are pretty narrow
Overrated preception
Because of the location and such you'd expect a lot more imo for the hype that comes with it. Very short course, I think sub 6,400 from the tips. I get that it was the fall and there usually is a little work going on, but disappointed in some of the rough shape of things would be putting it lightly. Then at the turn just before we hit the 10th hole (was on pace for a 3.5 hour round because it was empty) the put the worlds slowest foursome in right in front of us. We played about a 1.75 hour front and a 2.75 hour back. If this was a $40 summer course then I'd say you're getting what you deserve, but knowing the price for what it is with the distance, layout and lack of challenge. I'd say it's not as good as people think before they play it. Now that I've played it people are coming out of the wood work saying oh yeah I could have told you that about that course. Is it "bad" no, but it's not a good course for a avid golfer.
Tight fairways but playable
First time here. Considering the tough summer heat, the course was in good shape. Greens above average. Stay in the fairway, lots of trees and deep rough.
unkind & rude staffs
Staffs act like army, feeling of commanding their rules with attitude instead of genuine manner. Complained to the manager but no difference.
Good Value
The day was good. The majority of the staff were very nice. They did have a starter that was extremely unfriendly and simply rude. Other than that the course was in pretty good shape and the food was pretty good as well.
