Crane's Landing at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort
About
Crane's Landing Golf Club is the centerpiece of Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. Designed by George Fazio, the course winds across 110 acres of preserved woodlands. It is a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary that offers stunning views of the Des Plaines River nearby. At just over 6,300 yards, the golf course is not particularly lengthy but it still offers some formidable challenges. Water is a prominent feature of the course with ponds and a winding river coming into play on 12 holes. The greens are small and raised and the sculpted fairways are tightly lined with mature trees, demanding accuracy off the tee. Crane's Landing Golf Club's back nine is especially difficult thanks to the river, which runs along the entire left side of the 13th hole and also appears on no. 17, the course's longest hole.

Great gps
Played a nice pace 18 holes; enjoyed the course very much. I would recommend this course it had plenty of water on many of the holes. From golf now was $23 per person.
Great course with a group of 4
Great experience! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They had our carts out and ready before we arrived. The GPS equipped carts were a nice addition to the round.
The front 9 is more open than the back 9, which has a lot of water hazards.
lots challenging holes. Great course.
I like this course. Lots challenging courses. Par 3 all of them challenging and pretty hard. I had 20 over. Not great for me. Looks tough. Love and challenging. Great features.
Great service - ok course
Staff were amazing and friendly, course is a bit boring.
A gem of a golf course that is readily accessibles
We have played Crane's Landing a few times many years ago and decided to pay it a visit for old times' sake. I don't recall it being this much nicer and so much better maintained. The management has done a tremendous job on this course. A friendly and very helpful staff did not hurt either. It should be an enjoyable and challenging course for all golfers from newbies to scratch players with different tee boxes to choose from.
Easy to Difficult
Unlike many courses, this one begins with relatively short, easy holes and gets more difficult as the round progresses. 8 (a par 4) and 9 (a short par 3) are challenging, 10 is a long par 4, 11 requires an excellent drive or you don't make it around the sharp dogleg to the right, 12 is a long, difficult par 3, 16 is a visually challenging and long par 3, 17 is a tough par 5 (dogleg to the left) and 18 is a long, tough par 4 requiring an accurate tee shot and second shot. A lot of false fronts and huge, undulating greens. A fun course!
Course conditions were very good. Par 4's are generally short and easy except for the three that stretch to 400-plus yards.
Par 3's are plenty challenging; some real long and others gettable with a good shot. Plenty of shot variety and really good views tee to green. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the course. We paid about $40 with an online deal which was a great price. The rack rate is $75 which I think is a little high - should be closer to $50. But we had a real good time, great staff service and good food in the clubhouse.y
A Great Golf Experience
A relatively challenging course that is well maintained. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. For the deal offered, this course is a must play.
All skill levels
Keep your driver in your bag on most of the holes. Provides you a nice chance to practice your woods and irons. Good Luck
Price is right
Pace of play was great, good shape everywhere but some parts of the rough. Front nine is a lot shorter then the back, I'll play there again when I get a bargain through Golf Now.
Water will come into play
For $25 through golfnow, this was a decent course. You wouldn't expect it, but water comes into play almost every hole. Course was wide open midday Friday.
Course in good shape
The course was in good shape. We went off the back nine to get some through a little quicker. Pace was good.
Everything was great but the ranger
Course conditions were great and the staff was helpful and attentive. Would have been a five star experience had there not been a craggy old ranger constantly riding up and down the cart paths on the holes we were playing and stopping next to our carts while we were reding off. He wouldn't say anything but just hovered around all the time. The course was playing slow that day because half the holes were cart path only and we were a foursome but at no time did the group behind us have to wait for a shot. We were at least a full hole ahead all the time. The twosome ahead of us was gone but we were a foursome. I just can't see the need to
Great staff
Course was a little rough, but it was early in the season and our weather had been wet. Greens were slow and inconsistent. With that being said, overall experience was good. Staff was very friendly.
Course with in good condition, considering all the rain and cart path only
Friendly staff and very green conditions
Would recommend to others
Fall Golf
Course was in good condition for fall season. GPS on carts was very easy to use and had great options to choose from. Very different course play from front 9 to back 9 based on distance on mid level tee boxes. Beverage specials from club house were VERY expensive and not much of a deal. Was an enjoyable fall afternoon on course
great value
If you keep the ball in the middle of the fareway you'll do fine. Keep you eye out for the water.
Nice resort course at a good price from Golfnow
Played here with my wife, a beginner golfer. It's a rather short course (6290 yds from the tips) but still has some challenge and some nice scenery. It was also good for the wife as she could play from the red tees which was 3641 yds, an appropriate distance for her skill level.
Pace of play was not a factor with autumn golf meaning a rather sparse population of golfers, but the previous time I had played here it was a bit slow (though that was a few years ago so they may have improved). We played in about 3:45.
The greens were not overly fast or tricky, course conditions were overall pretty good from tee to green. A couple of neat bridges that were covered by old rail cars. One of the best cart GPS systems I've used. Nice locker room facilities and a friendly, helpful staff. A decent course that the wife will want to play again, especially on a hot deal from Golfnow.
Well maintained...quick greens..
From the blue tees (6300) front and back nine are night and day..average 340 yard holes on front, but 430+ holes on back....
bad greens
short tight course, greens were fast but bumpy, a lot of undulation ,pins were set on crowns one man in our group six putted you want people to come back be a little more user friendly
