About
Hapuna Golf Course stretches along the beautiful Kohala coastline before rising to over 700 feet above sea level. The snow-topped Mauna Kea volcano serves as a dramatic backdrop and there are seemingly endless views of the Pacific. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay collaborated to create a visually stunning links course that utilizes the natural contours of the landscape and silky fescue grasses. The design team has received praise for not only the challenge of the design but also for how seamlessly it blends into the existing environment. Palmer incorporated several risk-reward opportunities, especially with the par 5s, the14th is a good example. There are many ways to play this hole, which features a large ravine on the right and a wide, but shallow green. Long hitters can reach the green in two but short hitters prefer two shots and a par 3.

Hapuna GC Review
Hapuna GC is a must for any golf enthusiast. The Pro Shop personnel are very friendly. The driving range and practice areas are very nice!
The course is challenging! The fairways are wide and generous. The greens and wind can be tricky. The eyes will play tricks. Remember the ball will break to the ocean!!!
The pace of play is amazing. Our 2-some caught up to the 3-some ahead of us on the 17th hole.
I can’t wait to play Hapuna GC on my next visit to the Big Island.

2nd time playing two weeks later and still a great couse and in good shape. Fast greens, don't get above hole

I was expecting a more beautiful course since the hotel and grounds are gorgeous. I would say the course itself is fairly average, not too difficult and with a few nice views. The price I paid using the golf now app made it a good value but I wouldn’t have felt that way you have a paid full price. I would golf there again however.

The wind was almost unbelievable today. Would have liked to play on a more normal conditions type day.
Not unusual today to have a 3-4 club wind.
Literally hit a 5 iron on a 125 yard par 3, hit it well, and was on the front end of the green.
